Nintendo Is there any way to salvage backed up Nintendo Switch data? (Via modding or otherwise)

Here's my story.

I wasn't going into backend alternative options to do anything too crazy. My big pet peeve really lied in the fact that Nintendo has seemed to retract the ability to archive your save files, even though it was perfectly and easily doable with the Wii, Wii U, and the entire DS family of systems.

I was looking into getting my Switch modded, and it is an OLED, which only complicated things. And of course, ignorance to certain technicalities always plays a hand in fool-hearty decisions. The decision being that I would backup my existing data to a MicroSD card while I figure a plan out.

Now, it looks like Nintendo does not even allow for saved content that is your own to be brought back to the system, even it is the same system under the same online account that has just been system restored. What sweethearts.

Obviously, I refuse to wipe my card point-blank just because Nintendo tells me to. The question is, as things stand, can I salvage what I got via any means whatsoever. Because with all of the progress we collectively make in the community, this can't just be... it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

yeah, it sucks. I didn't realize a newly-formatted system would reject a card from the same system. I think the 3ds does the same thing, but you can bruteforce the id iirc on that system. I don't know about the switch. I own a switch, but I've never hacked it. I wish you could swap micro sd cards between systems, instead of redownloading everything, just need to sign in to redownload licenses. I've heard the m.2 for the ps5 can do this. you can swap it between two systems, and your games will work as long as you sign in to redownload the licenses. the licenses are installed internally, so there's no way to trick it or anything for piracy or something. my main concern, though, has always been my saves, since you can only back them up officially through cloud. luckily, nso is a reasonable price. however, I have psn+ for the ps5 too for the same reason, but it's a total ripoff. funny thing is that cloud saving is free on the xbox. I wish I could help, just citing my same frustrations.
