Like I said, I would only ever use the official PS3 Toolset by bguerville himself - anything else is either a cobbled together imitation at best (which can miss key features such as safety measures which can and do prevent bricks) and something which could potentially steal your console ID or something equally nefarious, at worst.

For anyone else reading the thread who is considering using an unofficial toolset (the word can be applied loosely) for patching your flash to be able to install CFW and won't wait for the genuine article to be available again, I strongly recommend reading this thread as posted by the site admin. In particular, the FAQ - Unofficial Clones/DNS tab which reads:

I think that since bguerville has been MIA for months we can probably assume that bgtoolset is never coming back. I guess we should help test WebManMod flasher so hopefully we can eventually do this locally and not be dependent on any website. I'll try getting an E3 at some point to help test.

thats not even worth the attempt, i looked at videos on it and it does brick some consoles

That's because it's still in alpha stage. It's obviously too dangerous to use unless you have a hardware flasher to recover from bricks, but at least it's actively being worked on.
