Isobuster and deleted save files.

Hi, guys, Im using Memory card annihilator and Isobuster to recover some save files I deleted. (GTA 3, Vice city Stories and San andreas precisely)

When I used Isobuster to scan the memory card's image (8MB) I found the GTA3 and VCS folders marked as deleted, and successfully recovered them, but the SA folder wasn't there at all.

So, I was wondering if there's anything else I can do, or perhaps if there's anything noteworthy about the SA save files. Pretty sure I deleted the three of them the same way, without overwriting.

The SA version I'm using is SLUS-20946 by the way.

Thanks in advance.

Hi.
If you don't see that GameID folder with [Deleted] suffix, it means it has been removed from fs table. And because PS2 saves have not any signature, recovery by media scan is not possible. Sorry for brings bad news. ^^

BTW: GTA:SA using time stamp as data integrity check. If you extract it from mc image, you need to preserve his date & time. IsoBuster taking care about that, but I'm not sure if eg. uLE respecting it during copying from USB or network. If timestamp will not match (inside save VS fs), then game will reject it to load, saying about corruption etc. Maybe other GTA games also using it, I dunno. Just FYI.

Oh well, rip forever my 100% save but two out of three is fine lol. I actually used your tutorial and managed to bring back the other two gta games, and luckily had no issues with the dates and such.

Thanks for clearing things up! :tranquillity:
