PS3 It is possible to safely remove unused 'icons' on XMB ?

Hello,
This is mostly a 'curious' question, but I liked a plugin on PSP, which was called 'XMB icon Hider' or something.

I'm looking for a way to remove icons/menus that I never use on my PS3, like, everything unless the settings, power, and game menus.
I wonder if it could bring better reactivity to the menu etc..

I'm currently on Rebug 4.85, but plan to update to Rebug 4.86.1 Lite.
Also, I'm interested about any optimization tips.

yes, removing icons in the columns is different than removing entire columns though. my ps3 tutorials shows you how to do this. it's even easier to remove specific icons by negativing their query instead of deleting all traces of them (what I do in the tutorial), but you can if you want.
