PS3 Its Here - Rebug REX & D-REX Editions Of 4.78.2 Custom Firmware With Official Cobra 7.3

A couple of days ago I reported the unofficial release of the COBRA 7.3 updater for Rebug's 4.78.1 custom firmware. There was some concerns regarding the updater which added the much anticipated COBRA 7.3 version that was developed by Habib and Mysis. This version of COBRA fixed the controller sync issue when launching PS2 ISO's from the XMB's disc icon which was introduced in Habibs 4.78 STARBUCKS[break].[/break] custom firmware. So if you where holding out for the official release of said COBRA 7.3 implemented into the most popular of custom firmwares, the wait is now over!

nah 1.5tb reads fine last time i tried. but if you have to check for errors after a bad shutdown it will force a format. :'(

Same as trying to have an otheros partition on my 1tb. (even tried downgrading to 3.15 to put a real otheros partition.... just isn't stable no matter what I do)

Like I said in my last post.. My shit is a beast! Could it be 5400rpm vs 7200rpm..
Because I based my sale off the specs at the time.. and ps3 hdd's were 5400rpm..
So, 7200rpm is why you had to format.. Internal-wise.. External is different..

Yes. You can play PS2 ISO on PS3 Slim models... Games vary though.. Compatibility wise.. Look at the Cobra PS2 ISO & PS2 Classics list..

PS2 toggler is needed for NonCOBRA users who own BC/Semi-BC consoles due to its bug that doesn't allow original PS2 games with patched COBRA emu which comes as default on almost all COBRA CFW.

Habib made a work around to fix this issue while COBRA mode is disabled, but this needs ps2's stage2 prepared, which doesn't come with the fresh installation of CFW, so users will need to toggle COBRA at least once to have that PS2 stage copied.

But then again, you don't need this in general unless you really hate to use COBRA on BC/Semi-BC consoles which I find it pointless.

 

I updated my system on rebug 4.78.2, now I want to play some ps3 iso on ps3 via external drive ? I tried some iso on ps3 via external drive (NTFS). But when I launched via multiman, multiman said "this is complaint Image."

The system and 1 hdd is on 4.78.2 and the other drive is on 4.78.1. Both boot fine. The drive on 4.78.1 is my cod hdd...its just a cod hdd with every dlc for every cod game. I do not want to have to reload that hdd so I'm just asking what the deal is?

COBRA MODE
COBRA mode / webMAN currently disabled by default, if you want to use COBRA 7.3 features, please enable Cobra mode via REBUG TOOLBOX 2.02.09. Users of previous Cobra CFW 4.55 / COBRA7 and below may experience issues with some games due to improved cobra payload that has updated permission patch, in this case. ***Remove old game data and re-install the game if you run into weird issues. Previous Cobra payload still had its old patches that were used for USB Dongle and mmCM, but not anymore, and this fixes the issue with all non-working games with Cobra. non-Cobra users will not have this problem since their data were not corrupted by old cobra payload.

If you meant this, then read the phrase of "Users of previous COBRA CFW 4.55 / COBRA7" again carefully.

I'm sorry, my bad. I thought the issue was with all cobra f/w before 7.3 "Users of previous Cobra CFW 4.55 / COBRA7" only refers to that cfw. Seems I didn't know what my deal was either,lol

Enable cobra and webman in toolbox, restart ps3, install http://aldostools.org/temp/test/prepNTFS_1.13.pkg. Put your ISO backups in to USB drive\PS3ISO folder, and run prepntfs. Every time when you add or remove game from hdd you need to run prepntfs. Now games should be available in xmb.
