Jailbreak without USB

Is there any way to instal CFW without using usb? I have a compatible ps3 with both usb ports not working, can i transfer the files to my hdd and load them from there?

I also saw there is a DVD way to do it, if so, can someone explain or redirect me to a tutorial.

You can update from HDD but only on debug vsh, which means You need already CFW.

What program can i use to burn this dvd and how do i get the ps3 to read these files?
Iv tried burning games for my chiped ps2 years ago and failed.

No special software needed. Just the default OS burning tool/interface will suffice.

Just place the CFW PUP in the route PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP and burn the disc as usual.
