Hi, first of all, greatly appreciate the work people done in this project. My respect, gentlemen.

i recently dusted off my old ps3 from the storage and would like to jb it.
It is an Australian slim version with the model number CECH 2502B and firmware 4.8. It was never jbroken before.

i am aiming to do a custom firmware jb, since ive read what if console allows for it - it is a better option.

the issue im having is - I cannot update a date/time via internet due to error(firmware too old, need to update firmware). The update available is 4.93, which i thankfully not installed :)

the other issue - i cannot access ps3toolset due to error "page cannot be displayed (80710a06)".
Also, according to guide i need to enable a Flash plugin in the browser, but i do not have this option.

could anyone assist with these errors?
Thank you.

download the update from sony and update from usb.
you dont need to enable any plugin in web browser. if the time is incorrect it will not connect.
so first update the console to latest firmware, as i said from usb and then proceed further.

Hi mate, could you clarify one thing for me please? Where do i download the update onto a usb drive from? The latest update from sony(according to my consoles interface) is 4.93. Which looks like is not hackable as of yet, isnt it? So should i be looking for 4.93 in this case?
I have found this site - https://archive.midnightchannel.net/SonyPS/Firmware/index.php?cat=CEX. Is it fine to download from there onto a USB drive and update that way? But should i go 4.93 or do i try 4.92(which looks like is compatible with CFW 4.92.2 Evilnat Cobra 8)?

This is bad advice because he can currently jailbreak on 4.8x. He should jailbreak on 4.8x and then install evilnat 4.93 cfw

i felt this way too, but how do i go about time error and inoperational websites from witheen console?

can i download 4.92 ofw from. https://archive.midnightchannel.net/SonyPS/Firmware/index.php?cat=CEX And update from usb that? Will it fix issues with time updating and access to ps3tool website?
There is no need to download ofw. Just jailbreak on current version. Bgtoolset is online now, I just tested it

Edit: make sure time and date set via Internet in settings

The latest update.
Downloaded ofw 4.91 and installed it. It allowed me to sinchronize time/date. Which allowed me to open toolset website. Once system was patched i have downloaded and installed an evilnat cfw. Now i have a jb console. This is great and all, but could someone advise on whats next? I have installed multiman and webman, but have no clue where to get actual games and how to put them in)

i figured out an app pkgi is like an app store. I found some txt files and now i can see a list of games. I downloaded gt 6 and installed. Did not try just yet. But from what i can see this Pkgi is limited in its selection of games( What other games store do we have and how do i install/setup them?

It's against the forum rules to discuss or link to piracy related websites, so you're not going to receive advice about that here. You can however back-up your own PS1/PS2/PS3 games with Multiman if that strikes your fancy.

Glad you got the jailbreaking figured out anyway!
