PSP Jigstick battery hard mod with Real sony battery model 110

I opened my battery to scope it out for the pandora mod. It does not say ISO4 next the the chip that is supposed to have terminal cut. I looked around and am getting conflicting Answers to whether it will work as a jigstick. I don't want to mod it if it isn't gonna work. It looks like the PCB #s are on the back of the board against the battery. And where the number probably is they glued or soldered a cover over it. WTF. And apparently my psp 3001 won't do a soft mod and isn't capable of it? I only have the 1 battery. I. Not even sure if ithe psp1001 is bricked. Butall it does is.. .well nothing. So I'd I do the battery mod and it still does nothing. It has to be the motherboard. I have checked and done everything. Except this pandora crazyness.please help set me straight.

pandora didnt help. MOBO is fried apparently. it just blinks all the time like it did when manually hitting the power on switch before the jigkick. wont boot off the MMS. just dead. by the way, the battery in question did work it seems. jesus those pins are tiny. i dont know if i have the skill and eyes to solder that back. anyways. close this worthless post out.

As far as I can tell, and I don't know sqaut, it seems that the psp 2000 and 3000 are pretty much worthless as far as doing anything cool with modding or different FW. Only the psp 1000 models got in before sony pit the kabash on it. Fn democrats. Anyone want to buy a psp 3001 or a junk 1001??

You didn't have to pull the pin. All you had to do was cut the trace with Razor blade then when done fill it back in with number 2 pencil.

I vaguely remember that the goal was to disconnect the EEPROM so that the serial number will be 0xffffffff. The old PSPs only expect that.

Depends on what you are expecting. Even if it's not the sort that can have a full CFW, there's the LCFW route.

What was blinking?

If you did the mod right, the Jigkick battery would cause the PSP to boot up automatically when connected - without you switching on the console.

The problem is that just any hardware issue could cause the PSP to stop booting properly. Not necessarily a firmware issue. Especially if you never did anything to the firmware in the first place.

No, I had fun with my PSPs, back in the day. Nearly all PSP-2000 series consoles could have CFWs. And the one that did not support that, could have a LCFW install.

Only the psp 1000 models got in before sony pit the kabash on it.
Technically, if you bought your games, it doesn't matter. Sony's official method for users to obtain games, was via either UMDs or the PSN store.

If you want t a (L)CFW anyway, what's the mainboard model of your PSP-3001? If you're unusure, what's the firmware version and have you tried checking out the LCFWs?

This battery did not look like that. Trace 19 was not visible and I was over it
A little late for all the replys now

The green light would blink for a split second with normal battery in/ no charger. That's it. With charger plugged in..the orange led cam on and seemed to charge. Flip power switch and the orange would turn to green for a split second. Then back to orange. Put jigkick in with magic memory stick....green light flashes for a split second repeatedly on its own. It was trying to auto power into service mode. But the mobo is shorted somewhere. I checked 5v power as far as I could trace it past the fuse by the main power connector. It has it. I'm done with it. If anyone needs parts for a psp 1001 I have a complete unit. Motherboard is junk.

I sold the psp 3001 and all the games today for 50 bux

I installed 5.00 file off brewology link from midnight channel. And psp grader v8. Unzipped and all that. Used the psp 3001 as a pass through to format and write the program to my 4gb sandisc magic stick pro duo. I did all this on my old ass pc with windows 7. Went fine. Mms successful .

Next question. .who is good at micro soldering on PCB for a nintendo switch lite. The right joystick connector on the mobo is broken.

@Snayke62 I'm surprised no one stated the obvious. When you tried to Pandora the battery which I'm assuming the model was s110 you ultimately ruined the battery. 3000 series needs to be temporary cfw and to make permanent you would use the infinity installer after. If it isn't 1000-2001 etc then you can't do the Pandora method, but what do I know.

5.00 wouldn't be possible as the 3001 started with a much higher firmware

Just recently got back into the psp scene

It was a psp 1001 I was trying to fix. I only used the 3000 as a way to burn the files to the memory card. And I soldered the 110 battery back together and it worked again. Threw the 1000 in the garbage and sold the dumb ass psp 3000 to my neighbor. I probably didn't do something right I'm sure. But it didn't seem that difficult and all the downloads went fine. The motherboard was fun*#ed. Bottom line. Toast.

Ya the battery isn't technically made for pandora as well. It's best to just pandora a phat battery. Hard modding a phat battery isn't really that hard but ya the 3000 batteries are as far as I know not able to be converted.I could be wrong however. I know they don't have the right stuff to be hard modded though. Too bad my guides are dead with pspmod site even though my download got banned from mediafire a long time ago. I actually had a happy mms package ready to go back in the day. Sorry to hear about your burnt motherboard though. That's rough.
