I'm kind of new to all of ps3 scene, have ps3 in the past 2010, but can't remember anything. I have other modded consoles, that I will use for reference.
I bought a cfw compatible ps3, installed CFW 4.9 by evilnat and have some doubts, if anyone could please help me:
1) I have some isos in my pc, dumped very long ago, the physical are laying scratched somewhere in the house. They don't work. .iso are in ps3iso folder of INTERNAL hdd. WebmanMOD mounted it, they appears as mounted on XMB, but after executing them, error 80010017 appears. I've tested a couple isos, but no onde works. Do I miss something?
2) PKG version is OK it seems. Some games i Own i've tested with pkgi and seems good.
3) There's some way to boot ps3 direct in a given homebrew, like irisman, or any other iso/psn game launcher? I like when consoles have this option: nintendo switch by default; aurora on xbox360, xbmc4gamers for ogxbox, or usbloaderGX for wii: Just turn it on, and no need to enter like 2 or 3 menus to browse for games, then mount, then return to xmb, then launch it...It's kids proof, and I have kids that turn my other consoles on, select games, and play.
4) I pretend buy a larger SSD 1tb xraydisk from china, seems the price is ok, less heat and maybe some seconds gains on loading large games like last of us (this one has significant gains with ssd, it seems). But only somewhat in the future:
a) There something wrong using 1tb ssd (dram less) with ps3?
b) ps3 native feature of backup/restore is enough to upgrade cfw hdd?
