Littlebalup's Dual Boot firmwares

PS3 Littlebalup's 4.92 Dual Boot firmwares -

Good day everyone!

Could anyone who using DualBoot CFW confirm that PS Store works?

I updated FW recently - PS Store begins to load and after several seconds black screen and kicks me back to XMB.

Tried to rebuild and restore database several times, nothing helped.

Need to figure it out, is that OFW 4.90 issue or my PS3/HDD.

Thank you in advance!

I can confirm that PS Store works perfectly fine on DB 4.90. I have it installed on my CECH-2101a and can download my legally bought content from PS Store with no problems.

With DB, would I be able to play my backups on CFW, load back into OFW and sync my trophies safely?

Of course knowing that there are certain games and trophies I should avoid due to not available anymore or online trophies for games that no longer have online services

Depends - If you've earned the trophies legit then yes, but then again you can just disable syscalls and sync them on CFW and you're most likely to be fine. If you've hacked your trophies then switching to DB or even real OFW won't help you - if the trophies are detected as fake you'll get banned.

It is not needed to format drive. Just delete everything related to homebrew. Every pushlist, cache, db entry, custom folders etc.

How I can delete these pushlist, cache, db entry, custom folders? (I tried to search the forum but I failed to find anything)

By hand, find them and delete using file manager or ftp client.

WMM have some basic scripting support so maybe one day I will make such cleaner. ^^

The only way to be completely 100% safe is to flash DB, reformat the HDD then flash DB again. Yes, you will lose all data, but since CFW gives homebrew apps complete access to the file system they can theoretically store any file anywhere.
That said, homebrew doesn't tend to intentionally hide files, so you can go Berion's way and just delete all files and directories indicative of CFW manually (you will obviously need to do this while you're still on CFW), then flash DB twice.

What's the thing with installing a FW twice? i never understood it as on every firmware installation the whole dev_flash is formatted so there is no point installing a fw twice

Afaik, there's no point installing twice except before using those old Flash Writer style 3Mb patch files, it was a bad idea not to overwrite the entire 7Mb of each ROS.

Basically there are two copies of the firmware in two areas on the, called ROS0 and ROS1 (if I'm mistaken someone please correct me). One is called the active partition and that's the one that the PS3 boots from. Whenever you flash the firmware, the new firmware is written to the inactive partition, and then the partitions are swapped, i.e., the inactive partition becomes the active partition. The idea is to prevent a situation in which a crash or a power loss during the update bricks your system.
So basically when you switch from CFW to DB or any other switch, the old firmware (CFW in this case) is technically still written somewhere on the flash. Now, if I understand correctly, the inactive partition should not be accessible to games, so flashing once should suffice but if one says they want to remove any trace of the console ever having been jailbroken then they need to flash twice.

Hmm, your point is valid, but given that the other ROS area is not active, it doesn't interfere with the currently fw as you already stated.

Yeah, it's probably not needed. Maybe unless you're selling or something, cause I think bgtoolset can tell.

DB 4.90 is an OFW that allows to *reinstall* CFW without having to use PS3Xploit Flash Writer 4.90 again.
DBH 4.90 is same as above, but HFW. It allows to install HEN, HAN, PS3Xploit tools, etc. Reinstall CFW when you want.

boot_fake_ofw_490.pkg is a MAMBA payload that boots your firmware with syscalls disabled like OFW, but you can return to CFW just entering to the System Update on XMB or re-enabling Cobra payload.

All these tools are intended for CFW only. HEN users cannot use any of them.

Also, is it possible this 'boot fake ofw' for 4.84 and 4.82 ? thx in advance
