@Rocpal Moving suspicious data is pointless. Reason for deleting them is to eliminate possibility of leaving any track of past stuff.

BTW a couple more trophies you have to delete first (even if you flash OFW / DB)
* If you've played pirated digital games (RAPs downloaded from the Internet) then you have to delete them. Syncing a trophy of a digital game that's not in your store purchase history is a dead giveaway that it's pirated and therefore that your console is modded.
* If you have played any beta or otherwise non-retail builds of games then you have to delete any trophies associated with those two. Reason is that sometimes the trophy list changes during development and this might lead to you trying to sync a trophy that doesn't exist in the final release, again giving you away as having a modded console. Also early betas sometimes use different product ids than the final build, meaning you'll be attempting to sync trophies of a game that doesn't even exist, which can also get you banned.

Would you be able to play pirated ISOs? That wouldn't be distinguishable from a normal disc right? I am a total noob so I don't have any know-how

We all know that piracy exists, there's no denying it, and whether or not touching on the subject is allowed on the forum depends on the context. In my other post I listed every way I could think of that a modded console could be detected by PSN on the server side, and playing pirated digital games is one of those things that can be detected. It was purely informative.

What's never tolerated is asking or giving advice on how to pirate games, and that includes advice on how to play pirated games online without getting banned.
Anyway, as I said, it's never 100% safe to play on PSN on a modded console, and it doesn't matter where you got your games. Many people opt to just buy another 2nd hand PS3 (they're dirt cheap these days) and keep it on OFW just for PSN. That obviously means no pirated games and no backups either.

Undusted my PS3 with cfw 4.82 rebug , daughter wants to convert back to OFW to play some disc games and collect trophies on her official PSN acct.
I have had a look today as it's been yrs since ii turned it on.
I updated the cfw to EvilNat 4.91 beta 8 , working see fine .
However this doesn't solve the issue that she wants to go back to ofw.

Saw this DB fw that obviously allows you to go to OFW and visa verse CFW using the update.pup. without the hassle of re-jailbreaking .
Read numerous thread about banning etc, and the games like GTA Destiny, BF , Cod .

Can she happily install this DBfw and go online with her PSN act safely.

I don't really want to go back to OFW . So DB looks the next best option.

You can't play GTA V on OFW either because the servers for the PS3 are long gone. The only games that still have that issue are CoD and Destiny.
Regarding DB, the good news is that neither PSN nor any known game can detect it. The bad news is they can detect leftover files from homebrew, and that's stilll enough to get you banned - even if you revert to real OFW. If you want to play CoD BO2 or later or Destiny you need to install DB or OFW (either is fine) but you must also reformat the HDD, so be sure to backup anything important before you do that.
Also note that installing DB or OFW doesn't remove trophies or saved games you got while on CFW, so if you have any problematic trophies, e.g., hacked trophies, trophies from beta / unreleased games, trophies from pirated digital games etc., make sure you never sync that user to PSN.

Tbh in it's current state it's not getting used , so if we format the hard drive, everything gets wiped, so if I then put the cfw back on it would be like a fresh install also.
 
You don't need to format. Just remove all none OFW data (from HDD and NAND/NOR).

Also no need of removing trophies or games for which current user have no licenses, because it is normal for OFW (even on PS4) to share content across local users.
 
Is there anyway of using more than one hard drive.
1 for cfw
2 for dB
if yes what process would I need to follow,,

Quick search if I swap hard drive I need to put my current fw , which is evilnat4.91 on a usb drive is that correct.

Only on NAND models (fat CECHA/B/C/E/G). NOR models (all other models except EMMC super-slims, which are not CFW compatible) have part of the firmware on the NOR flash and part on the HDD. Having CFW on the flash with DB on the HDD or vice versa would lead to all sorts of fun stuff, which will become even worse when 4.92 is released (presumably next year) and the two HDDs are on different versions.
 
Thanks for that , it's been awhile since I've looked at the scene, not getting any younger.
Mine is a cech2003a , think at some point I swapped the hard drive for a larger capacity.

When flashing I had to make sure the fw matched up on the usb stick to the fw on the hard drive/nand
Think I did it in recovery mode
Worked it out in the end . But is it possible if I keep a record of what's on what.

Reading it back and your post not too sure if it is .

Got 2 hard drives setup now both 4.91,
1 DualBoot
2nd Evil Nat ..

Only issue will be when 4.92 comes out , does that mean I'll only be able to update one drive but not both as part of the 4.92 will go in the Nor .
