PS2 Looking for a tool to copy from PS2 to PS2 HDD

Hey,

I'm looking forward to upgrade my internal PS2 Fat HDD from a 320GB to a 1TB or 500GB don't know yet BUT I'm looking for a tool to copy the installed games directly to the new drive. I own around 50 PS2 games and don't want to copy them all over again from my physical collection. ( I got my whole collection as iso's on my pc as well if this helps)

So is there a tool to copy from internal ps2 to a nother ps2 formatted drive? HAS TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH OPL!
I would Format my new drive with my ps2, and set up opl and stuff and than I guess swap it out to plug it into my pc. WHEN there is no tool to copy from drive to drive, pls recommend a tool to copy isos to ps2 internal drive, thats fine as well !

It must not copy directly from drive to drive. im fine when it has to store it first onto my pc and then back to my new drive. is this possible at all ?

PS: I only know the "WinHIIP - Windows HDL Image Install Programm" But like I can tell there is no "cloning" kind of option and every time I add a game to a already formwatted working drive or format a drive with this tool, plug it into my ps2 my ps2 says drive must be formatted.

Thinking about the procedure...

Time wise, it will take longer to dump everything off one HDD, and then copy the data to the new HDD....
If you already have everything backed up, then just going straight iso to HDD will be much faster

Isn't mandatory action is using Expand option in uLE after such cloning? To fix index sectors range?
And/or maybe using Optimize option in HDDChecker?

thx for all your replys. I guess I will try out to copy first all isos to the new drive. but is there a nother tool than WIINHIP. Idk if I made something wrong with it back in the days, but everytime I plugged my perfectly running hdd in my pc and coping games to it or repair the drive or made anything to it, it won't work anymore after puting it pack in to my ps2. HDL always said "drive must be formated" and OPL does not recognize anything.

so Im a bit scarred of destoying my working drive by plugging it to my pc to clone it. I don't want to copy all games from disc to internal drive, this takes days, and my DVD drive isn't the best anymore.

When I disconnect my acttual 320gig drive and creat a new one and screw the new one up in some way and it won't work anymore, can I put my old 320gb back in my ps2 untouched or is this drive invalid to use after creating a new one like on NOR PS3's?

As far ss I'm aware, as long as leave the old hdd untouched, it should work.
This is dependant where your OPL config is,but I assume it's on a memory card.

I'm not sure if there's a tool that allows to manage games with 2 drives attached... All the ones I know of only manage one at a time.

There is nothing to worry about it. Even Windows doesn't format (or create partition table, overwriting __mbr (do not mislead with MBR ;))) without asking first, and PS2 doesn't recognizing and signing drive by any unique id.

okay cool, I will try all these different methods out, but for now I have to wait, until aliexpress delivers my sata adaptor xD I give you guys feedback in here when all arrived :)

UPDATE:

Hey, I don't forgot this thread, simply had no time to do this, had to do other things first, but now I slowly get back to it. I still need a bigger drive but for now I got all adaptors I need.

So little recap: I got a 320GB drive with plenty installed games. I would like to update to a bigger drive (500gb+) so, I tried the cloning tool you mentioned here at it works perfectly. I cloned my actual drive to another 320gb drive I own, put it in and the ps2 recoginzes it like normal. so fine for now.
But when I clone a 320gb image to an 500gb hdd the partition sice wil lsty the same. IS the HDD manager for ps2 capable of expanding the drives partition? when this don'T work I will have to copy over every single game again, cause no other solution existing for my knowlage to clone a internal ps2 hdd to a bigger one

Hi man, have you found a way to do this issue-free?

berion told me that cloning smaller hdd to bigger hdd in the long term is not good, because it will eventually get corrupt. Cant find my thread 500GB to 1TB upgrade. He explained it well.

Yeah it works, but it will get corrupted.

BRUH... PFS-BatchKit-Manager!
It does NOT simply "clone" like an imaging tool, but copies everything over PROPERLY!

Yes. But he already cloned the drive, so i'm telling why not to clone. So formatting new HDD in PS2 and the using PFS-BatchKit-Manager.
Bruh.

It can even properly clone stuff from a drive with a broken APA-Chain, as long as what is extracted is intact!

ISOBuster can as well AFAIK. @Berion can probably confirm that!

None of us supports "imaging", but stuff can be "moved to the next HDD" without caching every file and ISO on another HDD! That's also one of the points.

@TnA IsoBuster in current version 5.4 allows to read APA partitions, including Attribute area contents plus EXT2 partitions and HDL/OPL game partitions. RFS 3.5 and PFS are not supported (only detected of their existence).

No support for PFS so nothing will be available to manage on them. In case of HDL/OPL partitions You can copy disc image but its will be rounded to APA partition of course because it is how it is stored there.
