I am thinking about getting into PS4 finally and want to ask the community here some things. What would you consider a good average price for a PS4 Pro? I am asking in USD. I primarily want to mess around with homebrew and SteamOS on it as I like to play with systems running games they have no business running. Has anybody seen if it is possible to get Battlefield 2 running from Proton? I have my own mod I created called Battleground 44 which is a HD reimagining of the 2002 original BF1942. Just want to see something I made working on a console. I am curious how non-steam games work as I don't own the Steam version of BF2 and they removed it from storefront. But interested on how it runs.
Another thing I wanted to know was how well does SteamOS work on pro systems? Does it still work best on older PS4 systems? Or is it going to be further optimized for the more powerful hardware?
Anybody have some good examples of native hombrew ported games from PC or other open sourced projects over to it? I just really liked the PSP and PS3 homebrew stuff and feel like I will like the PS4 way more. I am still primarily a PC gamer, but I was raised on consoles growing up so still have a massive soft spot in my heart for them.
