You don't mean "compress", right? Dummy refers to a fake, empty or filled data file. How can it reduce its size ? Whatchu smokin bruh? Pass it on to me too. I wanna stoop down to your level and see the world though your vodka fueled eyes.
 
not sure what's going on here, but if you use @aldostools ps3 tools to trim a game it will create dummy files in lieu of the original files. yes, those files will be 0KBs in size. I think it's to avoid checks that might happen at boot up. iirc, the uncharteds have these checks. just because a game works at boot, though, is no guarantee that it will work through completion. it's recommended that you keep the original files as backup just in case something goes wrong.

also, several psn games do in fact have dummy edat files. those are games without klicenses, so those edats can be either deleted or renamed. :)

edit: oh, and those dummy edat files are not 0KBs in size. I remember reading that some edat files are nothing but pictures of flowers even if they're meant to unlock something.
 
i am experienced low fps and freezing time to time(Some areas %10 of the game) just only at red dead redemption goty
i dont know what cause this. But it doesnt bother me actually i played on shitty pcs when i was a kid (Believe me im not judging ps3 just something wrong about that game or hardware)
All other games i played, work like a charm
 
btw, ps3tools game ripper makes a backup of those ripped files. they go in a folder named ripped or something like that, so the files are backed up without you needing to back them up yourself. just don't delete the folder and you're golden with dummy files. :-P

dude just F%$# off already you dont know nothing about this stuff. youre just trying to act smart. you dont know shit about modding so F%$# off . @DeViL303 gave us alot of xmb mods to make our lifes bettter and youre talking shit to him? He gave us pkg linker , Han toolbox, the cooldbot installler etc.. what did you gave us? Nothing so gtfo. Oh, and btw almost all call of duty run at 60 fps so dont talk shit about a 10 year old cpu. i didnt reply earlier because i have a fucking life you Dick

These are typically peaceful forums and they will be conducted that way. if there is a problem person report the post we will take care of. We don't need the back and forth.we will do so when needed and we try and keep it a minimal.

Clearing all your doubts Hopefully,

1) PS3 Does Upscale (few) Games,

2) Shitty Tv Can be a cause (some Tv's have motion interplotation that can cause jittery effect & others do it well costing some input lag but buttery smooth fps for peeps like you who want visual eye candy only.)

3) Crysis, far Cry, Gta V & Graphically Intensive third party titles do have sub 20-25 FPS due to lack of optimization & for reducing time for porting. They can't just sit in one place and recode the whole game just for SPU advantage and a couple of frames They rather make a new game within that time & profit on.

4) Please Note that the ps3 is 10 years old from now , lmao do you have a 10 year old pc that runs windows 10 properly?. If you want eye candy as you have said your only options are the exclusives ex: KillZone, The Last Of Us, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Infamous ,Resistance etc, etc.

5)Also If you're not willing on changing a tv and have a monitor aside, TRY THAT. I'm not even joking all Tv's do have about a 100-200ms input lag which isn't noticeable for most but it does have a big impact while comparing Tv's to monitors. I've tried Far Cry 3 and Nfsmw 2012 on a monitor & Hell was the monitor smooth af. Far Cry 3 Felt great at a fluid 30 frames, & Nfsmw2012 which runs at 30 fps Felt like f***in 60 frames. (Whenever i Play MP I use the monitor for advantage and SP games I use my TV for better Visual Quality since its perfectly callibrated and Upscales Images Pretty well imo.)

One simple fix for low framerate: Put an SSD on PS3. Mine's had been enjoying FarCry 3 with decent framerate although can see framerate drops in certain areas especially scenes after capturing the radio tower.

SSD able to speed up loading process thus you can see some improvements.

Nope, ps3 is limited to first gen sata controllers so You would only get a maximum of 1.5Gbps transfer speed,
In short all that ssd speed is wasted because of its limitations & ALSO you won't see any increase in frames. (unless u had a bad hdd from the start)
All you might see is significant increase in loading times.
Better off with an 7200rpm drive than an ssd.
You could take that ssd of yours & throw it in your pc now.. it would be much better if you use your pc regularly.

If you're just 28 and u have 12 children & are poor, you need to stop worrying about a god damn Playstation & worry about your family.
That way you'll probably get you a job and get yourself a ps4 anyway.
