PS3HEN Mafia (SLES55.79) CONFIG not working?

Hello guys,

I'm on PS3Hen 3.0.1 and I'm currently playing Mafia (SLES55.79), but I can't find any working CONFIG file.

The first problem is a black screen. That can be bypassed with that CONFIG file.

After the fixed black screen, the game gets stuck at the chapter "Molotov Party".

I tried using the CUSTOM CONFIG file, but now it gets stuck at the "Press Start" Menu.

I already saw that some people managed to fix other versions of the game, maybe someone is able to fix the SLES55.79 version?

Maybe @kozarovv? I saw you helping someone else out with the same problem before.

Well, custom config not work because it is not really config for SLES-52279, but for US release. I don't know where you grabbed it, but is wrong. Googling that ID seems to return that is German game version you have there. I don't think there is config available for it.

Yes, I'm playing the german version.

I took the custom config file from the aldopage. The soft and gx config file managed to fix the beginning black screen, but now I'm not getting past Molotov Party chapter as the game keeps crashing :/.

Please help as I don't know at all how I could fix the german Version :/

well if the first config there works (the Spanish EU version) then maybe just try using that with your game like

and see if that works first (its just adding your SLES to the end of the file), if not you may need to look at the US version and see exactly what it patches at those address's and then convert the patches to the German version by comparing the code patched and trying to find the same or similar in the German version.
(the Spanish version seems to be using the US codes you posted so if they work on that they will hopefully work on the German version)

I made a little mistake, the config file doesn't fix the spanish, but the english eu version, I hope that it won't make a big difference in fixing the german version.

I generated a config file with the numbers, but sadly they didn't work out :/ The PS3 freezes completly when I'm trying do add it do the game, or maybe I generated it wrong?

Yes, I would also take that path to take the info and somehow conclude it to my german config file, but I don't know where I should start at all, because I'm completly new to using the Hex Editor and all that stuff xD
I'd give it a shot if I knew how I could start with it. :D

However, I'm still stuck between those two config files.
The german config file fixes the occuring black screen, but will crash at the chapter "Molotov Party"
The english config file however, won't turn the game to a blackscreen, but it freezes at the main menu where I have to press start.

Thanks anyway for trying to help me. Could you maybe create an encrypted config file? Maybe I did it wrong, idk. If not, it's also ok. :D
 
both i posted crashed ? well not totally unexpected, well you could also try patching the game itself directly (providing you are running from a ISO and not the DVD itself, if u are maybe consider making a iso and patching it)
use "PS2 Patch Engine" and patch the codes above into the ISO and try running that, Just open PS2 Patch Engine and click PNACH then copy and paste

make sure Autohook is on and click Browse or drag your ISO onto it, it will create a patched ISO with the fixes built in, if they work on the german version that is. then just use the blackscreen fix you posted above, if that still doesnt work i guess its going to be harder since the US patch may just not work with the german version of the game and would need changing to match.
 
ok i dislike double posting but this is a breakthrough, after being sent the ELF file from the german version i was able to see the differences and produce a working Config file for the german version, a friend of mine has tested it for me (since i dont have the german version) if you could test it too that would be great

that should work, the problem with the previous one was 2 things, 1 i was doing it wrong and 2 the US patch DOESNT WORK with the German version of the game, it has different addresses so they have to be changed to match.

I'm trying to replay it as fast as possible and see if the other crash at "The Priest Man" also occurs, but for right now, it already managed to bypass the "Molotov Party" crash !!!

I just played it through and no crash occured, thank you again!
I haven't tried free roam or racing, but the story mode is working 100%.
 
thats great news, i was curious if it would crash in The Preist mission (or the Whore mission depending on region/version of the game) if anyone else has a different version of the game it can easily be made to work with it by just adding the patch for their version of the game, its in a different location on the German release to the US release, and probably different on all other versions too, just use CheatEngine or any other memory search program while running the game in PCSX2 and search for
0A 00 50 10 FF FF 02 24 to find the address for your version of the game, then edit the CONFIG to patch the right address.
Also all this talk of playing Mafia is making me want to replay it xD (and i aint buying the new one for a long time until the price is lower)

Hi, I have the SLES 52282 version of the Mafia in Spanish and I would like to be able to play it without crashing in the Molotov party mission, if you could help me I would be very grateful
