PS3 ManaGunZ - PS3 Backup Manager by Zar v1.41

NPUB-30928 is ps3 Sega model 2 emulator. Last Bronx is SLPM_626.87, ps2 Sega Model 2 emulator ;) That why you don't need config for VF2.

Yup! I totaly agree, but it does not change the order of things...:D

Offtop: Cause we start talking about VF here, by the way, could maybe someone talk where can download original psn version of Virtua Fighter 4 EVO ( cause i'm looking for this for a long time) or give .config for ps2 iso?

It's in my todo list but unfortunatly i don't think I'll be able to something better than MultiMan... it's faster, and I didn't find why...

I didn't do it yet because I would like to dump the original disk by using lv1 function to have a perfect dump and it also allow me to generate valid IRD files from original disk :p

If you achieve the same speed than iris it will be good enought
I dont remember how many time takes in iris to make a copy from original bluray disc to JB... but well... is aceptable
The progress bar and the list of files copyed helps to know the process is working fine, so no big problem, 3 minutes more or less doesnt makes much difference

Thanks for the hard work @Zar love it, its such a small thing but I'm eagerly awaiting the update where you can change the position of the game title from top to bottom in 3D Flow; so I can make a theme :) I think it has been reported about full covers only showing a max of 6 covers even if its the same game then its just blank cases but in case not I thought i'd mention it. I know these things take time so I'm happy to wait patiently. Thanks again.

Hehe, did you like it ?... it was just an idea i suggested to zar, i think he liked it, and we was talking after that about other small interface improvements but i never insisted much in it, i think is a good idea but is not prioritary and doesnt adds much value to managunz... is just an small visual effect just because the game title fits well on that position at bottom (but personally i like it more on top like is now by default)

I guess the most important reason why this never was added to managunz yet is because the list of settings in the "global settings" screen is becoming too long

In the last versions has been added a few settings that makes the list to go out of screen... and is fine, you can scroll it down and the other settings appears
Is just at this point of the managunz progression seems to be needed to rebuild that "global settings" screen
There are several ways... easyest one is to reduce the font size... or to displace texts to top... but this is not going to solve the problem in long term
The idea zar was considering is to "split" it in "tabs" (like the "inventory" menus of the classic/old resident evil games) ;)

And after that i guess there is going to be lot more room in that "global settings" menus/tabs to add small visual settings like this one you are mentioning, it needs a "tab" for "theme settings" at full screen

I been messing around latelly with the forum features and did learn some tricks

@Zar i been thinking in this lot of time ago and now i feel confident enought to try it :D

Notes
<any1>: You can use any custom name for this folder by configuring a custom scan path in managunz
<any2>: You can use any custom name for this folder/file, managunz will scan all them
<TITLEID>: Identifyer of the game, such BLES12345

Can you fill the info in the cells with... every path supported by managunz ! (for games and covers at least)
I added only a few paths as example of how to do it, the table is intended to store lot and long paths, if at some point the table "breaks", gets out of screen, or looks like crap dont worry i will fix it
You just need to worry in filling all the info posible inside it (the most = the better), and i will worry about fixing, rebuilding or improving it if needed (most probably it will be needed, looks nice but is just an experiment)

The way how i divided the cells is just a suggestion, i was thinking in it and thought this is the best way (and most generic too, probably this table style will be used later for other forum stuff)... but if you have a better idea let me know
The hardest thing of this is to imagine how the "final version" of the table will look before starting making it, lol, but at this point i can repurpose it without need of much work

--------------------
Also, for other people reading that wants to collaborate... and incase zar doesnt apears and completes it... or if we are missing something important, please write a post with the path that needs to be added to the table and we will update it

@Zar if you decide to edit the table to add the paths... click in "reply" in this message and copypaste it... and then post it in your message, this way you can edit it, do with it whatever you want

Feature request: another COLOR set _5 it seems as though COLOR_1 sets the colour for all text, I would like to be able to have game titles one colour and all other text another colour.

Also looping BGM like in mM would add some nice ambiance and customisability to themes

@Zar a doubt that I have, ManaGunZ can run the Playstation 2 games direct from external USB Hd? or need to install the game on the internal hd of ps3, then like the Multman? A big hug

@antonioks yes, only internal. This restriction come from the emulator.

Thank you my dear, is that since I already have my games in external hd, to use with the OPL Loader, it becomes more practical for me to use them on the PS3 direct by external hd, I already use the times the Multiman so far has me served well. A big hug

I was thinking in that, but more complex with more features (included something that was suggested before), and no need to add a new COLOR_5
This is just a talk, not exactly a suggestion (so zar dont stress), and nothing definitive (so people dont hype)... is mostly a brainstorming but i think i got the solution

The point is... if at some time the "managunz global config" menu is improved (by adding tabs, or horizontal pages... to make room for lot of settings), then it would be pretty cool to have "submenus" for "pieces" of the interface
For fonts.... i can imagine (at least) 2 groups of settings:

Game TITLE settings
  • Font size (default is 12 or so)
  • Font color (default white)
  • Font shadow color (this function doesnt exists in actual managunz versions, and could be a pita to implement)
  • Font shadow X offset (this function doesnt exists in actual managunz versions, and could be a pita to implement, positive values to right, negative left)
  • Font shadow Y offset (this function doesnt exists in actual managunz versions, and could be a pita to implement, positive values to top, negative bottom)
  • Font glow color (this function doesnt exists in actual managunz versions, and could be a pita to implement, default white)
  • Font glow spreading (this function doesnt exists in actual managunz versions, and could be a pita to implement, default 2)
  • Font glow tilt time (this function doesnt exists in actual managunz versions, and could be a pita to implement, default 3 second)
  • Game Title Y offset (only aplicable to FLOW 2D/3D... default is 40 or so... located at top of game icon/cover)
  • Game Title language (default in actual managunz versions is english... but could be nice to display them in the language configured by XMB)

*And for the "global font" another group of settings with the same stuff (except the last one for "TITLE")
*All values meassured in Tiny3D units

I already had in my mind to add font color & font size & font Y.
About, the title language, I wanted to use the language already defined in xregistry or defined by the language option but nothing is done yet. I'll think about "game title language option".

today, I took a deep look at retroarch cores sources... long time I didn't work on it. It's a huge project, so, I had to remind how it's working and it took me the whole day, lol :p

Any retroarch improvement is very welcomed :)

From the managunz "font rendering" or "text displaying" related features i mentioned the "most wanted" for me is the shadow
Because it will solve all the problems of overlapping colors (font color VS background color)
This is very notable on some screens... specially in the "side menu" when using a semitransparent image (like in the replica theme i made)

I have no idea if the font library used in managunz support to add shadows in a simple way ?
If not... i been thinking in a alternative way to achieve it... by rendering the text 2 times, lol... 2 layers with the same text
The text at top is the normal... and the text at bottom is the shadow (displaced few pixels right-down and colored in black)

----------
The other suggestion with the "glow"... is the animated effect used in official XMB... in white
It can be made in the same way, by rendering the text 2 times... but this time the layer at bottom (for the glow) is not displaced... but font increased couple of pixels
And this needs a "timer"... the official XMB makes that glow to "blink" ever X seconds... like a pulse
In the official XMB this animated"glow" effect is only applyed to the selected "game title" though... so is specific for it

Btw, you mentioned before you want to update some "navigation" controls using geometry generated with code
Latelly i been messing around with linux and discovered this: https://lxqt.org/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LXQt https://github.com/lxqt
Is the old LXDE desktop but has been rewritten entirelly with Qt (for curiosity sake... the performance is a bit worst than the original LXDE but it looks much better and has a bright future)

The reason why im mentioning it here is because you mentioned you wanted to copy some geometrical "navigation controls" from android (the switches for ON/OFF, scrollbars, the minimize/maximize/close/paneleft/paneright and other stuff for managunz filemanager)
Well... this navigation controls in LXQt looks pretty similar to android (visually is the same minimalistic concept)... so is an alternative where you can copy all that
The difference is how to "port" that geometry objects from android--->tiny3D ...or... from LXQt--->tiny3D

go to "Configuration" in PS2 game menu of managunz and then if it exist select "Widescreen" checkbox and then save the config.

if it doesn't exist then u must provide ur pnach file to the path /dev_usbXXX/PNACH/CRC.pnach .

I have a problem when trying to apply the widescreen patch in 6 games, the following error appears "Error: Offset > Elf Size", any solution?
