The v2.0 was just a joke, is just @Zar made it look realistic (he cheated me for some minutes too)Hello PSX-Place! Thanks a lot @Zar and all your people! I'll try ManaGunz 2.0 on my Ferrox STANDARD. And i think the copy disc games option will be wonderful. Even more wonderful if that option let me choice between internal or External HDD!!!!!
Thanks @sandungas for your support in spanish language
Good News @sandungas @Zar . After digging around the settings folder of Managunz, I finally get it working!!
I first removed every entry but PS3ISO in the scan_dir.txt and managunz stopped freezing when I access menu. Then, I tried to add each entry back, and just after I added video back to scan_dir, the problem came back. I opened the video folder in hdd0, and found a mkv file with unicode characters in its file name, which I used to test 1080p playback in Movian several months ago. I renamed the file to only include ascii characters, and the problem disappeared. I can open any menu without freezing.
So in short, a mkv file named with unicode characters in video folder caused managunz to freeze, as soon as I try to access the menu, or scroll down in setting screen. Really strange issue.
Moreover, can you confirm if managunz have unicode support? I have some isos with japanese characters in their filenames, which aren't displayed properly in filemanager (none ascii characters are not shown), but the japanese game titles are shown correctly in the main screen, and they all mount and play just fine.
Thank you for your investigation !
Can you copy/past the name of the mkv with the unicode char ? I'll try to fix this issue.
In the file manager, I'm using a 'custom' function to display '...' at the end of the string if the window box is too short... but when I created it, I completly forgot to support unicode ! -_-
He realized about the problem with the "widescreen" option, but he was enabling/disabling the others too
So maybe the bug is trigged (only) by a combination of applying/removing the widescreen patch + the other patches
No troubles, no need to sorry. Bugs happen all the time everywhere. I work with my software development team as a designer, I know thatsomeone found the cause of this issue ( https://github.com/Zarh/ManaGunZ/issues/18 ) it will be fixed for the next update for sure !
sorry for the troubles...
Have you tried ferrox COBRA?Hello again! Well, the ManaGunz 1.35 still doesn't work on my CFW 4.83 FERROX STANDARD. When it mount a ISO the bullet appears on the wallpaper blue and move a little bit and then all is freeze. Maybe you have to check this because MONSTER MANAGER 1.05 works on my CFW. But I don't like MONSTER MANAGER. What do you think? i have to upgrade to 4.84 ferrox? the STANDARD version is the problem? Thanks for all your advice.
What is your aversion to Cobra, just out of interest?I don't want to use COBRA. but maybe i have to do it.
@Zar Hello I'm curious have a CECHA01 60GB ps3 and I wonder when I use managunz 1.35 to launch a back up copy will managunz be mounting the game using the full hardware based emulator or will managunz be using the software emulator?
Thanks
I think Cobra decides whether to use selfemu/softemu or netemu for PS2 emulation, but you can change this in game's profile. By default on CECHA, it's definitely using selfemu. I was playing valkyrie profile 2 the other day and 1080i works perfectly fine, no slowdowns, no visual glitches, everything was perfect. On netemu however, valkyrie profile 2 would play around 30% slower even on 480p and there would be a lot of visual glitches if you enable smoothing filter.
If you turn upscaling off, the ps3 will send 480p signal instead and how it is displayed completely relies on your TV. I play most of my PS2 games on CECHA in 1080p upscaled mode with filter smoothing filter enabled.I just tested with tales of legendia and there seem to be no color glitches so I think it's using full emu. Do you know if we have PS/PS2 upscaling to OFF will the TV be doing the upscaling instead? I actually prefer the 1080p upscaled to the 480p progressive scans in msot games.
I have a LG C7 OLED and i tried upscaling on PS3 off and let the TV handle and tbh idk which I would prefer. It's less jagged with tv upscaling but I notice input lag comapred to letting the ps3 upscale the gamesIf you turn upscaling off, the ps3 will send 480p signal instead and how it is displayed completely relies on your TV. I play most of my PS2 games on CECHA in 1080p upscaled mode with filter smoothing filter enabled.
