@sbp the #2 is not a freeze, what is happening is it takes some seconds to display all the files inside the folder... try it with a folder containing 50 or 100 files and you will notice it better (sometimes is needed to wait 3 or 5 seconds, etc... i never tryed with 15000 though, lol)
#1 check if the problem happens too with the shorcut buttons (R1+ dpad), there are this 4 actions mapped with that feature:
R1 + Dpad left = dock window to left
R1 + Dpad right = dock window to right
R1 + Dpad up = maximize window
R1 + Dpad down = restore window (to default size)

There is not a confirmation request about overwritings... by default managunz will overwrite the files with the same name
This was something i wanted to request to zar too... i think is needed some kind of warning when ovverwriting (like windows)
#4
The background of the filemanager is the same than the secondary background of the themes (named BGS.PNG as far i remember)
BG.PNG is the main background for the game selector screen
BGS.PNG is for all the other screens (included filemanager)
BGF.PNG <--- and this is my request for a background specific for the filemanager

As far i remember you can generate a list with the MD5's for all the files of a folder
@Lambada (select the folder with square, then triangle and check MD5 of the folder)... and as far i remember this list can be saved as a .TXT file somewhere
So... is not exactly what you ask for, but i think it can be made modifying a bit the existant functions... the bigger doubt now is how to implement it in the interface, is needed to indicate 2 paths (or mark 2 folders), and a option to compare them
