ManaGunZ

PS3 ManaGunZ - PS3 Backup Manager by Zar v1.41

Yes it is
Tried, but i'm not able to generate a decrypted iso. It worked with Evilnat 4.89. So even if the app seems to work not all the features are available. Waiting for a release of 1.42 (not nightly) with support for 4.90 CFW and no need to enable MGZ_log to make decrypted iso dump work.

is there any way to add PIC1 (background picture) to PS1 and PS2 games in XMB user interface?
No, PIC1 is only available for PSP/PS3
I just noticed the changlog for the 1.41 release:
"Fix : Issue with IRD build on region hashes and Data2."
"The database won't accept upload of ird made by a version older than 1.41."

I guess that explains it. An IRD with invalid region hashes is better than no IRD at all. Can I provide a pack of IRDs made from every (non-MIA) PS3 iso in the redump.org database to correct some of these issues and add many missing IRDs?

Thanks for maintaining this database!

They are slowly but surely replaced when ppl do dumps. Only around 100 remained :)

but you can upload them here (or in pm), i'll upload them in the database manually.
Are they made with redump2ird ? if yes, can you also upload in the pack one ird that was already uploaded in database with managunz 1.42, I just want to compare them, i never tried redum2ird, i saw it on redump forum but never tried it.

non-MIA = what does it mean ?

Is there any way to create pkg shortcuts to mount and play ps2 and psx games the way it works for the ps3 iso's. If not is there a chance this will be implemented in a future version / is it even possible?

It is possible, I didn't add it because I planned to to add an option to create psclassic pkg which is imo better. Also, as I'm not working a lot on it anymore I can't promise anything but it's feasible.

Fair play, I thought it may be a long shot if it wasn't something already possible. Either way would be cool if you ever got it done,

I've got webman that i use to load my ps2 and psx isos at the moment but with your ps3 pkg shortcut maker, I load all of my ps3 isos from the main xmb which already looks awesome so this app has already made my ps3 far better, cheers.

But is not so evil :D
In the actual code it happens something similar, when a string is missing in one of the "loc" files managunz loads the english version of that specific string

Actually... Flow3D only uses 1 image for the cover
The only game format that doesnt follows that rule of "only 1 image for the cover" is PS1 that requires a additional "BACK" image (because the "CD jewell case" where the sheet is spliited in 2)

Hello all,

I'm using the current version of Managunz (v1.42, if I'm correct), but I cannot get backcovers of PS2 games displayed.
I use full covers with back, spine and front all in one file, but the backcover is blank, if I choose 3d covers in Managunz.
Did I miss an option which has to be set?

I haven't tried PS3 covers, yet. But all PS2 covers that I tested always had a blank back when using 3d cover display.

Try to delete the covers inside /dev_hdd0/game/MAANGUNZ0/USRDIR/covers and then redownload them. I had an issue with the cover server maybe you downloaded the corrupted covers when the issue wasn't fixed yet.

Thx, I'll try.
But the covers I tested were indeed my own covers. I uploaded them manually to the 3d folder and renamed them with the corresponding game id, example "SLES52005.jpg". These are full covers with back, spine and front in one file. So I thought these covers would be used from Managunz to be converted to 3d covers on the fly.

Fixed it. It was a naming problem. I used SLES52005.jpg, but the correct spelling is SLES_520.05.jpg.
Now 3d covers show up with spine and back, thank you! Great software!!!

So if PIC1 doesn't work, how do we add background pics to PS1 and PS2 games in XMB?

It would require a lot of work to make that (as the disc icon and the string "playstation format disc" are stored inside dev flash files).

Maybe with Cobra it would be possible to do it, as when we mount a game cobra loads the title id from the bin image (cobra do that for some ps1 emu settings) then, based on title id, write icon0, pic1 and a string with the name of the game in ram (taken from a gamelist database that should be included in managunz), then rewrite some part of cobra to redirect the reading of icon and string from dev flash to the address where icon and string are stored.

This may be just one way to do that, and its not so easy/fast to do
