Hello there guys!
I have a PS2 slim 70000 series that I have successfully restored the ide bus on
I then moved on to replaced the bios BOOTROM chip with one taken from a 50000 series
This resulted in a 70000 series slim that can boot FHDB - no modchip, no memory card, just straight into FHDB.
However, this breaks optical disc reading, audio cd, ps1, PS2 games, nothing is detected.
I suspect this is due to the Mechacon checking BOOTROM version against Mechacon version and now being mismatched due to my effective downgrade of BOOTROM
Would be nice to restore disc drive function too if possible
Is it possible to fix this? I noticed Mechacon controller IC between 50k and 70k series are both the same parts number and apparently both have the same ROM, it's just the writable eeprom portion of the Mechacon that differs between them
