Just happened to come across this post, I didn't seem to have gotten an email notification for it.
It looks like shortly after this post was made, instructions were added for bgtoolset to the site. Of course, with the original bgtoolset domain going offline, it's in limbo, but it goes to show that information gets updated on the site. More-so now than at the beginning of the year as people start to use the site more. That was the point of migrating off of reddit, as previously only moderators could edit the wiki, and now it's a wiki with a validity moderation system for *many* consoles, rather than just a couple. Regardless, I think it's better to have one page that can be updated versus many forum posts contradicting each other and re-inventing the wheel over and over. It just takes time to get the right people to contribute.
Regarding the info sources: you're right, I didn't do a great job back in 2016 when I stood up the PS3 wiki on reddit. I've gone back and tried to add sources (and credits) to some pages. For the actual documentation, in 99% of cases (excluding the obscure flashers and ODEs) I manually explored the hardware/software and documented all the options by hand. CM isn't perfect or anywhere near complete, but the information is now in the most accessible form and able to be updated by the community.
Regarding OP's suggestion to merge the wikis — I think it's best to keep them separate. ConsoleMods.org focuses on end-user guides, while the devwikis focus on the development / research side of things.
