PS2 Modchip disable procedure

Since FMCB & FHDB v1.9xx series have problems with some modchips like freezing during boot or black screen after launching application (FMCB 1.8x should works fine, on some modchips also 1.93x and/or 1.95x), I think this thread is worth to stick, providing informations to the users how to deal with this issue. Of course the best method is completely desoldering modchip from motherboard but for those who want keep modchip capabilities (like CD-R/unpatched DVD-/+R PSX/PS2 games booting) but also want to use newest FMCB/FHDB or just for those who have no manual skills to open/assemble console without killing it in the process (like me ^^), this informations could be handy.
  • DMS3: In modchip menu?
  • Matrix 2: Press quickly 5x Reset button during console boot (but still FMCB/FHDB freezing).
  • Modbo 2.0: Cannot be disabled. FMCB 1.93x works, newer doesn't and all FHDB freezing.
  • Modbo 750: Press quickly 3x Reset button during console boot.
  • Modbo 760: Press Start button during console boot. You should see printed on screen: "Modchip Disabled". On none original modchip, this procedure killing it. ;)
  • Ripper 2 Gold: Keep pressed for 5s power button during console boot. Some says that works for them Start button on joypad, but this doesn't work for me. FMCB 1.8b works fine, black screen of running apps on all FMCB/FHDB 1.9xx.
  • Ripper 3.41: In theory, press quickly 3x Reset button during console boot.
If You have more experience with other modchips, please post it in the comment.

Most of the info above comes from @Haker120. Thanks!

hello :)
- i have run with success FMCB on PS2 slim with Matrix;

how i can go inside Infinity XL+ menu to disable the the chip and see settings ?
it's very difficult find information about it on the web

First time I heard about Iridium was from LATAM people and it is suppose to be popular there? Like Modbo in Europe? Anyway, top tier modchips died with modchips era. DMS3 and 4 series, CrystalChip v2.0, Ghost 2, Matrix Infinity (the real one ;p).

Here there is some post mentioned that this is clone through clones: the Titan X3 and Prodigy (WTH those are? ;p).
https://www.hwupgrade.it/forum/archive/index.php/t-1318468.html
So I followed by trail :P to see if Titan or Prodigy shows some results. For Titan nothing in DDG and G. But for Prodigy, found this manual:
https://www.yumpu.com/it/document/view/21757630/prodigy-3-3reva-31-32-3-te-hardstore
And this:

Nothing more western internet says.

Ok thanks :)

my infinity on another ps2 is that one: https://www.willsconsolemodifications.co.uk/ps2-wiki/chips.php?chip_id=146 and looks like is very performing !
1) but why you sai it's not the real matrix ? Xd

omg here there are so many chips and none is iridium :( : https://www.willsconsolemodifications.co.uk/ps2-wiki/chips.php

2) but don't looks like there is the information to disable iridium Xl that i have right ? :(

while i have another ps2 with that one, but not information too ! https://www.willsconsolemodifications.co.uk/ps2-wiki/chips.php?chip_id=46

3) so if/when i will desolder i have to keep in mind that none of the points had to bridged because in stock ps2 there should not be any bridge point right ?
