Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me out.
I live in europe and got an region free NTSC-J PS2 SCPH-90000. It has a matrix infinity v 1.93.
I'm playing games via OPL SMB and the console is connected via component cable on a flat screen TV.
OPL SMB works fine, it show all games, no lags etc. (I play NTSC games because it's better than PAL)
My problem is the screen, it jumps up and down every couple seconds and some weird lines sometimes appear on screen (similar to screen erros, like on a old CRT TV).
To see if it was a problem with the cables, I insertet a PAL game via disc. The screen is totally fine.
When I play the exact same game via OPL, the problems are starting again.
Even when I start the PS2 without a game and I stay in the browser, the screen will jump up and down/flicker occasionally. This seems to me, that the console is the problem but if that would be the case, all games shouldn't display properly but how I said, normal disc games, don't show any problems.
What I can I do? Any tips?
Thanks!
EDIT: Ok, it seems to be a problem with component cables. I connected the PS2 via composite cable and the screen works fine but the quality of AV cables on a flat screen TV is really bad.
When I use the component cables with my unmodded PS2, the screen is also fine.
So, what could be the problem that my modded PS2 dislikes component cables? I really don't geht the logic here.
