multiMAN corrupting PS2 ISO's during copy to HDD

I had wondered at first when trying to play The Hobbit why I had issues with audio going out randomly, when I checked the PS2 emulation compatibility list and it said it worked fine.

Fast forward some days later I installed ManaGuns on my PS3 and just for the heck of it let it check the MD5 of several games including The Hobbit and it every official Retail PS2 game I let it MD5 showed that the games did not match the redump.

Then I deleted the games and used the MG file manager to copy the games manually to the HDD and then MD5 the games and they matched. I have a problem here because I also wanted to play Resident Evil 4, but it's over 4 GB's and I don't have any free space on one of my USB drives that is NTFS, and when it copied over from my FAT32 drive I use just for my PS3, RE4 after being split it also says it was corrupt.

Also one question: Might it ever be possible to run PS2 games from a USB storage device instead of just HDD?

can't run ps2 games from external storage. there's a reason, and it's complicated.
Okay thanks. Just wondering. I know it's a different console but people never thought a thing like DIOS MIOS on Wii would be possible but it happened. It allows playing GC games on the Wii in GC mode, But with Nintendont it isn't needed.

Any idea about multiMAN corrupting games? Is there any other program that can merge split files that start with 0 and so on?

Why do You think MultiMAN corrupting games? It is rather HDD corrupting and while You copying games by ManaGunz You have just luck to omit bad sectors. Check S.M.A.R.T of this HDD (but be ware to NOT agree for any disk initialization or You will be my tutorial reader ;p). And if this will be ok (relocation sector count = 0), again try copy data through multiMAN and check checksums. If mM killing files, it will do it every time.

Merging files on Windows: run CMD, go to dir with game parts and type:
Code:
COPY /B <part 1> + <part 2> + <part 3> merged.iso

It's not an actual HDD, it's a SanDisk 256GB flash drive.

Also, I think you might have misread my post. I have no way at the moment to move files larger than 4GB to the PS3's HDD other than splitting them and then letting multiMAN re-merge them..

On PS3 merging? I don't know.

For transferring data You can use FTP or exFAT (implemented in IRISMAN).

Yet still, Your HDD (inside PS3 :P) can be corrupted already. I'm afraid You didn't understand me. You cannot omit bad sectors reading data if this data lie on bad sectors. You can omit bad sector on target storage where this data is writing. That's why I tell You how to check this scenario.
