PS3HEN multiMAN not working

Hi, I'm very new to PS3 homebrew, so please forgive any mistakes.

Today I installed PS3HEN on my PS3 Super Slim, and along with it, I have downloaded multiMAN. (I have not downloaded any homebrew other than multiMAN).

I enabled PS3HEN, and all was working fine. But then, I tried opening multiMAN but after I open it, the screen just becomes black and nothing happens. I try pressing the PS button to exit, but nothing happens when I press any buttons. I am then left with no option other than to turn off the PS3 with the power button.

I'm not sure what's going on, as I have said, this is my first experience with homebrew/custom software of any kind.

the first time you run multiman i think i changes some files and backs out to xmb (main ps3 screen). try uninstalling it (goto icon and press triangle then delete/uninstall) then reinstall and try again.

if using ntfs eternal usb with hen you will need this version of multiman.

I am having this exact same problem. It happens often. I have deleted multiMan and re-installed it several times. When I launch the program my screen goes black and nothing happens and i have to hard re-start my PS3. I cannot get this to work. It was working fine until I turned off my PS3 a couple of days ago.

I'm running an SSD in my later slim PS3 and I have this problem often. As it turns out, the PS3 really doesn't like SSDs. What I lose in load times, I gain in restarting the PS3, getting HEN to work (which takes 2 restarts and 4 tries each on average) multiMan frequently gives me a black screen and I have to force shutdown and try it all over again. When I have more disposable income, I'm probably gonna do more research into which SSDs work best, there's a pretty underwhelming list of SSDs that work with the PS3 under that thread, and future proofing the PS3 almost requires an SSD with how fast HDDs are going out of fashion.

Latest versions of multiMAN execute prepNTFS when the application is launched.
prepNTFS is a component that is used to scan the games on NTFS (and exFAT in multiMAN MOD).

prepNTFS and prepISO show a black screen while they are running, due they don't have implemented. a GUI.
This may take a couple of minutes if there is a large amount of games in the external disk.

If you're experiencing a black screen starting multiMAN, I recommend that disconnect the USB drives to check if the application starts.

Another possible cause of black screens on HEN is when dynamic fan control is selected in webMAN MOD.
This issue is solved changing the fan control to manual or SYSCON mode.

A rare cause of black screens may occur when the game controller is connected to USB port. The PS3 may think it's a storage device.

Some SSD drives have compatibility issues and also can be a cause of black screens.
