MW2 Game Ban?

Hey everyone,

This is my first post so I apologize if I did something stupid.

I jailbroke my PS3 awhile ago on 4.84 and I am using rebug. Main reason I did this is to run the Shake Package on MW2. Kind of like a mod menu but mainly for matchmaking. I was able to force host and then choose what game type and map we played on. No cheating just wanted to play maps and game types that are never used anymore.

I came back recently to do this and it was working for a few days. Then I got the dreaded IP ban error and then what appeared to be a console ban error. Now I did a hard reboot on my ps3 and I can still sign into PSN and even join matchmaking for MW2. The problem is I never join a game. I will be in matchmaking for 10-15 minutes and then it freezes. I have joined a couple games after waiting 15 minutes or so but they are always hacked lobbies where everyone is flying around and my ping is awful. What is weird is that I can go onto Black Ops 1 and play online no problem.

Also I am on a wired connection with good internet. I get 200mbps easy. When I am in matchmaking for MW2 I can see there are games to join but it always jumps to the next ping level (50ping, 60ping, 70ping) and will say something like 0/25 good games.

So my question is, am I game banned? Can you be banned from playing online for a specific game? If not am I semi-console banned or semi-IP banned? It seems the only way to solve that issue would be to purchase a new IDPS ID and spoof it with webman or PSN Patch.

You can be banned per IP, per Mac and/or per user only on game servers - if this is your case, new IDPS will not solve Your problems. Considering been lucky that Your SEN user and all consoles stick to it wasn't banned.

Okay understood. I knew I was taking risks just wanted to revive an old game I love so much.
So do I have any options? If I get console banned I thought I could buy a new console ID and replace my current ID.

• If Sony ban Your SEN user account You must create another.
• If game developer ban Your IP, then You must change IP (that's impossible for internet providers with static IP; and tunnelling yourself via VPN or other proxy is too slow for playing games).
• If game developer ban Your MAC address You need change it (I don't know if PS3 even allow read it to 3rd party but it is just an idea; anyway, there is no tools for that).

I hope I am misunderstanding your post here, Berion. You said there are no tools for the MAC change, but SEN Enabler has the MAC changer included as a usable tool, but no readable file included with the pkg. I am seeing many videos on how to change the MAC address, but 2 of the 4 or 5 I saw, I've tried and failed. If I can't unban my console, then I am in a world of hurt right now. I only have this one step left before I am able to get back on my favorite game, and I'm not letting anything stop me. I will comb the corners of the Earth for a way to get back online with my good console. So, is this still an issue?

Your VPN speeds are still dependant on your ISP's speeds etc. I play COD Warzone and many other games on PC and PS3 and the latency is fine for playing games online... eg.. my ping/speeds through VPN is exactly the same as when not using a VPN.

Sometimes they are even better when using a VPN as it isn't competing with ISP network traffic as well...

@Perpetual_Noobness If SEN Enabler allows to MAC spoofs or permanent changing (first to hear for me ^^), then read about it in readme (should be described there all options and how to use). I don't playing online, and never used any tools related to. For me it is waste of time and I wondering why peoples want to play with other peoples. I tried and found it just annoying and boring. ;p

You CANNOT be "server-banned" from MW2 by Infinity Ward

The real question is... were you using the free version of The Shake Package or were you using the paid-for version?

If your answer is the "paid-for version" then this is probably EXACTLY why you got banned.

Because I have used the free version of that menu and never been banned

I've also used cracks of paid-for menus (i.e. having a paid menu without paying for it) and not been banned

Altogether, I've used about 50 different free SPRX menus on MW2 and never seen a ban from this game

Now Black Ops 2 on the other hand, I had purchased the Reflex SPRX for it which gets me banned every few months if I use it.

If your SPRX is paid-for, it is probably pinging your console's personal information to their private servers much like Reflex Engine will take your IDPS/PSID and send it to https://www.reflexengine.co/ (and this is how your CID ends up on *cough*ConsoleCrunch*cough*)

Plus, alot of paid-for .SPRX mods will act like they can only be attached if you log into their website and set/reset your IP from PC (which is exactly where they are getting your CID) Otherwise, if not properly linked "so they can steal from you" it won't let your menu load.

Yea some VPNs are slow and never use the Free ones they are even worse. PIA is decent for Ping/Latency and Speed. Are are some others that are meant to be fast but no idea if they are "No Log" VPN's. But remember these speeds are also affected by your ISP as well. Crappy speeds and Latency from an ISP can negatively affect these things when connecting through a VPN.

Just on console it mainly Account bans from SEN etc as you you be reported by the dev to SEN. PC gaming can also include a HardwareID ban as well which is similar to a ConsoleID ban...

Ok, I do get what you mean but at this point it's like arguing just to argue because there is no developer/publisher actively watching MW1, MW2 or MW3.

and there is no security for any of the CODs all the way up to BO2... Plus there is not supposed to be anyone on these games with super moderator privileges so you can blame a ban from MW2 on infinity ward devs when they haven't even went back to the original MW2 for over a decade when it is really just some IW4 (modded PC variant of MW2) hackers that are ruining the game nowadays.

Honestly, if you're going to sit there and tell me that IW from 2010 would have the power to server ban you I can't believe you because I never witnessed it myself besides IW sold out to sledgehammer for MW3 and wherever you see the infinity ward logo in New CODs its just a gimmick because they don't even consist of the original members of infinity ward who actually developed the whole game of mw2 for ps3 from the ground up and everything is sledgehammer and raven games trash anymore.

This thread is enlightening. I have BO1 and BO2 on the console that was banned. I know from past discussions BO2 is a deathtrap for getting you console banned because of a bot that monitors online activity, but BO1 is devoid of this. Being that I'm not that into the MW franchise, I may just delete this hacked piece of garbage from my console to prevent future problems.
