PS2 [MX4SIO/SIO2SD] SD Card Adapter and SD-driver for the PS2 SIO2 interface

Hey there! I have noticed a "regression" of sorts in using mx4sio with OPL BDM and/or daily github builds. I have a couple of russian double-language pirate PS2 discs that I have made iso dumps of and copied said dumps to a microsd that I use in mx4sio, they use game loaders that are essentially modified official PAL PS2 demo-disc menus to load two copies of the game, one translated and one original. Recently, I decided that it'd be a good idea to upgrade my OPL install to the latest version (spoiler alert: it was not a good idea), so I tried three different OPL versions: the official one from github (v1.2.0-Beta-1979-d26da79), BDM 4.7.1 version posted not too long ago in this same thread and another one of the BDM test builds, BDM_CC_TEST_V2. All of them didn't work, instead of launching into the demo menu, they just load to white screen, although, with one of the older builds, can't say which one specifically (because I overwrote that one "good" version that was on my memcard with the newer one), but I have some older OPL builds left on my PC for me to test. Once I test them, I'll come back with results.

Also, my ps2 model is 75k slim and I'm using a custom-ordered self-assembled mx4sio PCBs

If you did, which version did you end up backing up to?

Hi, not sure if this is the correct thread. Anyways, I've just modded my PS2 model 79xxx and I'm having trouble figuring out how to setup OPL. I'm using a Samsun Evo micro sd card formatted in ExFat. Do I still need a FreeMCBoot memory card or is there a way I can run everything off of the micro sd card? Any help would be much appreciated!

Howdy all, been a while since I last posted, and in that time I have tried 3D printing cases for these things, but they are too fragile and break on assembly 100% of the time, was going to try resin printing but found it needs a lot more caution with fumes etc so I got a printer but waiting to build a purpose built room with extraction fan before I even attempt to try that out, so I had a look on ali express and asked around but so far, who knew the biggest problem would be getting cases made for 300 of these things and have them ship to Australia with any sort of economy. Basically if I had cases made the price for each unit would have increased by about $20 per, so I figured I might as well sell off the boards, since most people that would want one I would wager also have a dead memory card lying around, or one they are willing to mod with a slot and a couple of holes for the lights.

I figured the best way to package bare boards was in anti-static bags, so I got a bunch of them from Ali and started snapping boards out from the cards I was sent and bagging them. I now have roughly 100 of the 300 bagged up and boxed for sale as is, just to try and make some of the money back that I spent to get these made!

If anyone wants one, I would prefer Aussie orders but really as long as you're willing to pay postage I'll post them anywhere. I know these are next to impossible to get in Australia though, so if I start to run low the Aussie orders will probably get preference.

For right now though, I have close to 300 of these, 100 bagged and willing to post. Price is $30 Aussie dollerydoos which is probably a pittance to anyone in the US, apart from postage of course.

If anyone wants to order 10 or more, I'll do a discount or free postage or something as a thanks.

I'll also post an ad on the local classifieds site, Gumtree. I can accept paypal there so it's a bit more secure than just a bank deposit etc. I have no idea if people overseas can join that site, but that's where I will be mainly checking for orders. I'll check in here every few days whenever I remember though if anyone just wants to DM me here asking for one.

Cheers guys, couldn't have had these made without the schematics on here, full credit to all who have contributed before I even joined this site!

Hi guys!
I need help.
When I am trying the new OPL BDM 4.8 or a new version of official beta my SD card in MX2SIO not visible, it's shows only BDM, SMB, IDE and Apps folders (empty of course).
Old OPL I used before - working fine.
What i am doing wrong here?

I'm currently having an issue with the mx4sio, I tried playing gta San Andreas and the ps2 itself popped a message telling me it can't read the disc

I have a new issue: some games that are using VMC start with the black screen and straight up do not load. Not entirely sure if the latest OPL version was the reason, since even before that games with VMC used to load very slow, or with my new SD card, but now they're straight up not loading at all, they get stuck on black screen during the intro.
So far this is happening with Sonic Mega Collection Plus and Sonic Heroes, did not try other games with it yet.

I'm pretty new to this forum stuff but I have something I'd like to share with anyone willing to build themselves a MX4SIO with easy to follow schematics, just a couple things I've gathered put into one drawing for simplicity.

If anyone has been following the tutorials perfectly for setting up MX4SIO with an exFAT card, but OPL doesn't list any of the games on your MX4SIO, there seems to be a regression in OPL. In short use OPL version "OPNPS2LD-v1.2.0-Beta-1973-c3a2ef4".

The newer OPNPS2LD-v1.2.0-Beta-2068-9cba7d7 version does not list games for me. That is even though it reports it happily saves my OPL Settings to mass:// (and, no, I don't have a USB stick connected) meaning it can recognise and work with the filesystem on the card (a compatible Samsung EVO card).

The older version OPNPS2LD-v1.2.0-Beta-1936-5c81088 doesn't work; maybe it doesn't have exFAT support yet.

I might open a bug ticket with more concrete details later.

Hi mate, I am having this exact issue - but I am struggling to find that recommended previous version of OPL - could you please provide a link, or better yet, tell me how I can find it when I go to github? Hope this solves my issue, it's been driving me NUTS! The OPL version I have does the same as you - saves the config, even writes all the required directories and files for the config to the MicroSD card in the PX4SIO, but won't list the games on there.

Sorry, as a new member the forum software doesn't allow me to add hyperlinks (to prevent spam accounts). Here's how to navigate there:

1. At the bottom of the OPL Github front page, there is a section "OPL Archive"
2. Inside that section click on the "mega account" hyperlink
3. In mega, navigate to this folder: Pre-Release -> v1.2.0-Beta-1973-c3a2ef4 -> run_1120
4. And there is the OPL software to download.
