I noticed a different sticker on the back of my new PS2. What do you think it is?

Is it from a previous owner or is it original?

According to ChatGPT, it's expected of European/PAL PS2 releases. It's supposedly internal labeling on Sony, not exactly sure on what the B means.

It's a mysterious case. I couldn't find any SCPH-39004 with a similar label on the internet.

There are two different production versions of the SCPH-39004 model: Chinese and Japanese. Does anyone know what the possible differences are?

I've owned and worked on hundreds of PS2's and I've also owned 30 consoles at one stage and I don't think I've ever come across before. I'm in New Zealand and have imported 3 English Consoles and I've never seen that before.

B means "Bezpieczeństwo" -> Safety.
It is a safety certificate.
This certificate means that the product meets the safety standard.

Thank you for the helpful information!

I've come across another device with the same label. The reason why some devices have this label remains a mystery.

I found a naughty child here.

Apparently my console has been opened before and a chip has been installed. The label on the case is SPCH-39004, the BIOS is SCPH-39003 haha.

Yeah that tamper seal definitely says void all over it, but even if it didn't, that's not an indication that it wasn't opened either. The PS3 stickers and presumably the PS2 ones are really easy to defeat. With a hair dryer you can take them off without saying void.
Of course it has been opened ... Cannot see the "VOID" on sticker ?
