PS3 Mysis POC Plugin Update - v0.2.1.1

The proof of concept plugin by Mysis has been updated. If you are not familiar with this plugin it offers many features, one being the ability to record your gaming on your PS3. This update adds more game recording compatibility and introduces recording of PSP, MINIS and PS1 games. Other tweaks include using a custom memory container and the ability to switch between three quality settings allowing for different resolutions. These settings can be made using the d-pad directional buttons. Remember that this is a proof of concept so expect a few bugs until the developer has ironed them all out. For more info, videos and its initial release, be sure to check out this thread. There is more so continue reading.

Just creating the folders work fine unless you rebuild database then you end up with a corrupt data icon on the XMB. So I created this GameData pkg that will give you the proper folder structure and a placeholder icon in the game data section of the XMB not to be affected by a database rebuild

Download

Edit2: also if you have already created the folder these will not change anything but give you the placeholder (so they're fine to install and won't effect the other files) be warned though if you delete it from GameData it will delete that folder and anything in it.

With POC Plugin 0.2.1.1 can I record while playing Gta v and other games? Could you give me information on how I can download it on my ps3? PS: my modification is "HEN"

When I try to log in to psn with the mysis plugin I skip DNS error and I have cfw of rebug lite 4.85, does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello, how to install this plugin? what to do with sprx file?
If you are really interested in using this POC plugin, I suggest you take the time to read the posts in this thread where your question & many more have already been answered.

Remember it's a proof of concept, it was never improved further due to the core limitations of the system feature. Don't expect to capture everything you wish flawlessly & in good quality. Having said that, decent captures can still be made in certain conditions.

The pad buttons usage to control the plugin is detailed in OP, it's also in the Readme inside the PoC zip file.
The only requirement is to have a system that can load prx plugins ie Cobra, Mamba, PRX Loader.

The installation is standard, same as all prx plugins such as sMan/webMAN-MOD/Open-ps3ftp/psnpatch/sen etc...
You simply copy the prx file PS3_PPU_Project1.sprx anywhere on your internal hdd, for example in /dev_hdd0/plugins (create the plugins folder if it doesn't exist).
Then you add the full path of the plugin (in text form) as a new line in the prx loading system boot file that you are using.
For instance, on a CFW running Cobra, you would add the string "/dev_hdd0/plugins/PS3_PPU_Project1.sprx" (without the quotes!) to a new line in /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt.
Finally you reboot & Cobra will load the plugin automatically.
If you are using a standard CEX CFW or Mamba without autoloader and/or PRX Loader, you must refer to the documentation.

I have HEN firmware, I threw the file into the plugins folder, and created a text document and wrote the path to the plugin there. But nothing works. Help! Installed via MultiMan

The example steps I gave you were specifically for Cobra CFW, not PS3HEN.

Now that you copied the plugin file, you must use HEN instructions to load a prx plugin.

The steps are nearly identical as those for Cobra CFW, you should edit a boot_plugins.txt file (located on usb or hdd) HOWEVER prx plugin loading cannot take place on console boot as it does on CFW but rather on HEN loading itself. So rebooting the console & launching HEN should load the plugin.
If you are a PS3HEN user, what you should really do at this stage is to read the PS3HEN documentation to learn about this kind of things.

Btw I do not know whether this PoC plugin will work on HEN, I cannot recall whether it requires lv1 peek/poke support, if ever it does, it won't work. The source code is not included in this release's zip archive (or at least in the zip I have) so I cannot confirm.
