Hi, I'm back from the dead again because I've recently gotten a Namco System 357C and was doing so research on how it works, I've noticed the XMB is quite basic and limited compared to the standard XMB. However while comparing some plugins and such, it seems to me like it's just a stripped down DEX XMB.
Comparing the headers between 4.70 DEX and GEX modules, the headers are exactly the same, just that the GEX modules are smaller, (presumably since they stripped options out of the XMB).
So would it be possible to create some sort of Hybrid Firmware like what is done for retail systems that restores the XMB fully?
This is more just curiousity at most, but I seen some posts floating around that indicate the XMB can be restored so it must certainly be doable.
Does anyone have any useful info on this? I've tried looking up more info but came up with little to none.
