PS3 Need Help On How To Transfer Old HDD Data To PS3's New SSD

Okay, I just wanted to say ahead of time that I'm a complete noob so forgive any of my crazy mistakes. Thank you, there's a long read ahead of this for bear with me.

I have a CECHP01 Fat PS3, it was modded with Evilnat 4.92 CFW, I had dozens of completed and saved games on there that I unfortunately don't have access to anymore. I ordered an SSD so that I could have more storage space than the O.G 160gb HDD that was in it. I didn't know that you had to actually prep the PS3 for a HDD swap by backing up all of your data, so stupidly I removed the old HDD that I had all of my data on and plugged it into my laptop using a SATA to USB adapter to see what was on there. I wasn't able to read what was on the drive, I want to make it clear that I didn't do anything with the drive. I didn't format it, I couldn't even get my laptop to read the drive which I know is due to the encryption now. Anyways, I had an errand to run that day so I disconnected the HDD from my laptop and just popped it back into the PS3. Yet when I turned my PS3 on again I got the infamous "Connect a controller via USB and press the ps button" screen, which is followed by the screen asking you to put in a USB stick with the firmware and format it, etcetera. I set the HDD aside for a while and since then have continued using the same PS3 with a new SSD in it, with Evilnat 4.92 CFW, of course. When I was trying to find information on whether it's possible to transfer the data from my old HDD to my PS3 with it's new drive, I kept seeing similar posts where someone was asking whether they could transfer data from ANOTHER PS3's HDD, which I now know is impossible due to each PS3 having their own unique encryption.

What I was wondering is if this is something that is possible in my unique circumstance? Because of course, it's the same PS3. Is there someway for me to get back my old data afterall? For the record, all I want is my saves and my PS2 VMC.

TLDR; Is there a way to get my save data off the old PS3 HDD (which I didn't back up) onto my PS3's new internal drive that I already have set up? Its the same PS3. I mainly care about my game saves and things like that, I don't care about pictures, music, or video.

Actually you did. Windows asked you to initialize HDD on which you agreed, this means it created MBR partition table on it, overwriting PS3PT in the process. That's why PS3 stop recognize your disk and seeing it as empty.

It does or else you wouldn't been able to format it. ;) Well, you using wrong terms. Not assigning drive letter doesn't mean that drive isn't read. Drive was read >> the device was recognized, only logic structure wasn't due to encryption. But even if HDD wouldn't be encrypted, it still wouldn't be recognized due to unknown for Windows partition table format and file system formats. Just FYI.

Anyway,

You can fully retrieve your data but don't use anymore this disk until you get the key etc. :P What you must do is put new drive into PS3, format it and dump ERK (this is key from which decryption key will be calculated; I assuming you never dump it before). After that you will need use my toolkit (PS3HDH) to generate ATA key ("Keygen" script) and "PS3 HDD Mounter (Missing PS3PT)" script. Which also means you need Linux, at least boot in live session. This is the only way in your current situation (because you overwritten first 512 bytes).

Materials for doctorize with quantum mechanics: ;)

Eventually I can retrieve your data for gold bag. ;p
