PS2 Network adapter works with SSD but not HDD

So I've been actively trying to mod my ps2 with free HD boot and all that, which I have done. But for some reason my network adapters, which I have an OEM one with the bitfunx sata card as well as a gamestar one, won't read any of my HDDs. I've tried a 500GB Seagate barracuda, a 2TB Seagate barracuda, two 2TB WD Blue HDD, and a 2TB WD general HDD. NONE OF THEM read as connected through hdd manager in ULE. However, I have two 250GB Samsung SSDs that both connect and formatted through hdd manager perfectly fine and have some games on them. I just don't understand why I can't get my HDDs connected and I'm ready to give up and bite the bullet on a 2TB SSD which I would prefer not doing. Does anyone have any help or suggestions?

So I dunno then. 4K are known to not working. 512 and 512e (4K translating internally to 512) are fine.

Yeah im at a loss. However, I picked up a 2tb SSD and it connected perfectly fine. I really don't know what is the issue but oh well, I'll just stick to the SSD. Thank you anyway! I've seen you post a bunch and you're very helpful. I've used a lot of your previous comments in threads to help me through the process. Stay awesome!

2.5" hdd? if you dont use any hdd brackets or diy something to make it snug, it will disconnect in a weird crooked way. ssd are light so they can hold on easier.

You are welcome. ^^
Could You make a photo or tell us which one? That would be handy for people who find Your thread.
Absolutely! So I ripped my ps2 down to the main board and tested continuity on the two fuses controlling the HDD reading abilities. The PS9 fuse showed good continuity and was giving the 5v to read the SSD, but the PS10 fuse had no continuity which is what gives it the 12v to read HDDs. Circled in the picture is the PS10 fuse I needed to remove and solder a new fuse in place. The fuses are cheap to buy. I got a 10 pack for less than $10. The replacement fuses can be found by searching "CCP2E 50 fuses".

I took the image, cut, resize and attached to not be lost in time (low post accounts have limitations, anti-spam bots mechanism).
Thanks.
