PS3 Network card seems to be dead

Hi,
I recently bought a used PS3 and I didn't have time to test internet with it and now I moved abroad with it and no networking works (doesn't find any wifi, controllers don't stay wirelessly connected, nor does it recognize working ethernet cables) which crushes my wish to jailbreak it cause every guide I find requires some kind of networking with it and I don't know what to do.

It's a PS3 CECHK04.
I opened it up to check if there's any dust or any chance that anything disconnected but nope. All clear. I don't have any equipment or experience to clean contacts so I don't know how to go about it or if that would even help.

How did You test network connection? Exactly how.

If WiFi is dead, then You will not be able to install OFW or HFW. But I don't know if this occurs also with LAN. Both are two different controllers so it is low chance that both are dead.

For Ethernet I just connected the cable and pressed "Internet Connection Test" and it said "An Ethernet cable is not connected."
When trying to set up wired internet, it failed to obtain the IP address with the error 80130128.
Internet connection settings > Easy just gets stuck on "Checking network configuration..."
Internet connection settings > Custom > Wireless > Scan finds nothing
Internet connection settings > Custom > Wireless > Enter Manually > gives me this error 80130128 when I enter the routers info.
AOSS did nothing but got me hanging the cancelling screen.

I tried enabling and disabling the internet without a change. I am not an experienced PS3 user, so I don't know what else to do.
The only thing I did do was install the same OFW (4.84) from USB when I replaced the HDD.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, at any point I boot up the console or disable/enable the internet, I just get the error 80010201 as a pop-up in the top right colour.

That's strange. This error is related to account activation.

But it is still lack of information about Your network. It is static IP or dynamic? Internet provider giving You WAN though router or RJ45 from a wall. :P It filtering MAC or not? Are You have unlocked all ports or not? etc. etc. It is not enough to just put the cable and forget (it is the same for all devices on the world, not only consoles).

In case of WiFi. If You are sure You have at least one Access Point in range, PS3 should display it's SSID (until it is hidden which some routers or modems doing). However, PS3 have quite a weak antenna and.I wouldn't rely to much on it in tests.

I tried enabling and disabling the internet without a change.
There is option in System Settings to turn off or on network, maybe it is just disabled. I'm not sure if we talking about the same thing here, so I just mentioning about it.

Ok, I was busy the entire weekend, so let me get to answering these questions:
Dynamic IP, WAN, I don't have any filters set and I haven't fiddled with the port unlocks, though all other devices work with it.

The PS3 is about 1.5m away from the router. Nothing shows up, even if I put my phone right next to it as a mobile hotspot. The SSID is not hidden on my phone or the wifi.

The system settings option to turn network on and off is what I was talking about disabling and enabling. Nothing helped.

I have also opened it up with the help of a seasoned tinkerer and I disconnected and reconnected both the WLAN ribbon and the Antenna and it didn't make a difference.

Funny thing is also that I turned the PS3 on into recovery mode and no controllers connected (I know they connect only through cable in recovery).

Am I legally allowed to bump this since I replaced my Network card and wifi adapter and it didn't change a thing?

Kind regards, Jan.

While that may be true, my Sony controllers still didn't connect. Whether that be PS3 or PS4.

I have some pretty believable DS3 clones. In fact haven't found a way to tell without opening them. And the DS4 doesn't work in recovery and without homebrew isn't fully supported anyhow.

I encountered the same issue, slow Bluetooth connection, no WiFi connection, console crashes when I turn it on with a controller. I'm using an Official Sixaxis and PS3 is an A01 Phat model with a 1tb SSD with the latest Evil Nat CFW. Replacing the network card from the E01 and the ribbon flex cables of the Memory Card slots didn't do anything. It seems like it is software related. I think it might be related to my WiFi settings since I took off the legacy WPA 2.
