New here and want to know what to get on my ps3 cfw as of now.

Not use to using forums so I might have missed the discussions of what plugins I should get, so what should I get to make the most of my newly hacked ps3. Also as of what I can do with it. Not really familiar with modding consoles and stuff.

You didnt give enough info about what kind of setup youre working with, to be able to give you a bunch of answers about what cool things you can do and any limitations you may have... however, for a quick-list while assuming (judging by title of thread ;)) you are on CFW (Custom Firmware) and NOT a Super-Slim with HAN...

These are the four I use the most:
PSP Launcher (Cobra) v2.0.
webMAN MOD 1.47.08.
multiMAN 4.82.00.
IRISMAN 4.82.

I hear ManaGunz is a must-have as well.

If youre brand-new to modding and are using Rebug-CFW, dont forget to install the Rebug Toolbox. ;)

That should be plenty to get you started until someone else chimes in. :D

Ah sorry didn't know about adding the extra info. Yeah I'm on the slim with the cfw and to be honest I'm not sure what kinds of set ups I can do with my ps3. I've just got ps-ninja and psn-patch for me to get online without being instantly banned but I'm not exactly sure how to use the latter. I'm looking for a build that centers on ps3 and ps2 gaming. Usage on iso. and pkg. files too will be a must.
 
Firstly get rid of PlayStation ninja. Its out dated and psnpatch already does that and more. You will most likely want cobra on for best compatibilty for ps2 isos and ps1, and psp games. Irisman, is a good backup manager. There is also managuns, multiman, webman that serve similiar purposes.

Mind explaining what a backup manager is exactly? Seemingly from the mass amount of them I assume they are probably very useful but im not sure in what way. Like is it because data get easily corrupted or something that it requires backup programs?

PSNNinja v4 is useless. Recommended using webMAN MOD VSH Menu & PSNPatch. :)

A "Backup Manager" is for managing your game backups/rips, you can use one to copy games to external, mount games, rip games to HDD from BD etc, on a basic level they all do the same thing, but there are some differences, like GUI, extra features like file managers etc. Most backup managers are apps, but webman mod is different, its a plugin, it brings all your games up on the XMB which is nice, also it has built in background ftp server which is very handy. Best to get a couple of them and try them out and see what you prefer, myself I like to have MultiMAN and webMAN Mod, but the other managers are good too and have their own benefits.

I personally use only the latest WebManMod for everything, and PSNPatch and SEN Enabler to go online. With like @DeViL303 said WebMan is through the XMB, so (once full edition is installed) you can either pull both triggers or hold start button and a menu pops up with all your PS1/2/3/P Games in a GUI without launching anything or leaving the home screen. You can even backup a game to your HDD without leaving the XMB, which makes the whole process so much easier.
