Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Steve, I'm 37. Have 3 kids now. Have always been a playstation guy all my life.
Despite growing a family, I always hung onto my consoles. On my shelf next to me, I have my own xstation installed in my playstation where the optical drive had died. There's a PS2 below it with FCMB and XEB+ installed. My PS4 is on the shelf next to it, and my PS5 is in the living room.
I wanted to say thanks to everyone here. I'm sure you saw I left out PS3. My CECHA01 launch console has been dead with YLOD for years. I was there through the controversies and confusion. Tried the simple method of replacing the thermal paste. But I held out hope that one day I would be able to fix it. 10 years later, my daughter is now 9 years old, I finally thought maybe I have time to fix it. So I dug it out of storage and went to youtube.
Eventually I found RIP Felix, and despite realizing I was way in over my head, I learned that there IS hope. So 4 days ago I mailed out my console, and the surgeon sent me back a photo of the login screen. I'm elated and just wanted to come in and share my thanks to EVERYONE who has been a part of the psx community for so long.
Thanks,
Steve
