New & More Capable Vita Game Decrypting Tool Released.

Loathsome Dung Eater
So while I do not have a link to the app I did see this amazing new tool on wololo just a few minutes ago and figured it needed to be brought to attention. I am stuck at work doing a huge function so I hope one of the other guys can help properly report this. Seems to do what Vitamin 1.2 promises and then some.

It's from a Chinese group called MaiDumpTool and it seems to be very promising. Updates work but didn't see DLC but may have missed it skimming the article. grw0 carts (carts with memory to hold updates on the cart itself instead of the system) and self loading games not supported ATM (Uncharted falls in this category I'm afraid) but supports all of Vitamin 1.1 and then some. If I find the app I will try to post it but the thing I love most is it dumps the cart right to your memory card which saves space, time & makes it much more of a backup tool over a piracy tool.

All translations and images here are courtesy of GBATemp user AIDA who translated all of this.

Can extract/decrypt games and updates (Both physical and digital)
● Can extract the updates by themselves (Both physical and digital)
● Can install the games to your VITA directly, instead of dumping to a VPK.
● Can decrypt and load games that use the sce_modules
● Automatically loads all plugins in ux0:/plugins/
● Saves the original eboot to mai_moe/eboot_origin.bin
● Does not support grw games (With updates built into the cart)
● Does not support some of the rare self loading games (Uncharted: Golden Abyss)
● If the game can not be normal operation of the solution (in two attempts)
The eboot.bin replaced mai_moe / eboot_origin.bin
Deletion two reserved sce_module / libc.suprx and sce_module / libfios2.suprx with _m of (???)
● This version does not support DLC, this will likely be added in the next version. (If there is a next version!)
● When dumping a game, the user can choose to install it to their VITA directly from the game, or pack it into a compressed VPK (Because the latter takes a while)
● PLEASE do not let the screen lock, as this will fail the dumping process.
● This tool is for educational and research purposes only! Please delete it within 24 hours, and do NOT use it for commercial use.

Hoping an English variant wil come out but I am sure we can figure it out. But one thing I noticed that is HUGE IMO I can/will delete save files so backup via CMA/FTP prior to an attempt. And the fact TheFl0w wants to work with the hacker if possible is a great step in the right direction for the Vita scene which has been known for its toxicity and every man for himself attitude.

it does look very promising indeed :D
with some games that did not work but now does
i think its great to see multiple options and it is important and hopefully theflow will continue his work
because he had some interesting twitter posts about what will be in his next version
with maidump and the next of vitamin the compatibility and features will probably be amazing

Found this supposed English version on twitter comments, UNTESTED.

I tried this game ripping tool with my ys: memories of celceta cart. it resulted in the same "the file is corrupt" error.as vitamin :( I read that both the European and Japanese versions rip fine. at least the new vitamin got the usa version of tales of hearts r to work. :)

Both tools have their strong points but I am hating Vitamin ATM. If dumping with the PSTV make sure either A you have the whitelist patch enabled or B permanent as last night the "morphine" infected Resistance when it went to decrypt the game as it failed to load upon the whitelist not being patched. I have since used VitaRW to patch both the Vita and EMU whitelist dats so even a power failure they still work. Hell even a FW update the whitelist hacks stay in place now!! Had to format the memory card as even a DB rebuild didn't help. Which sucks for 64gb of data.
