PS2 New more efficient thermal pads for the PS2?

Let me start from the beginning.
I know that if ain't broke don't fix it...
But...

Recently it is getting very hot.
I was wonder if I can somehow slowdown the temperature rise or even cool it down more efficient,
because my SCPH-70004 after short period of time is getting quite hot and the fan after ~10 min speeds up to "the 2nd gear" and it is noticeable.

First thing that comes to my mind is to change a thermal pad (quite big).
I have noticed that currently in stores I can buy tons of it with different efficiently:
6W/mK, 8W/mK, 12W/mK or even 15W/mK.

Does anybody even try it?
Was it worth it?

Tito/Macho Nacho Productions recently build "the ultimate PS2" and changed pads there, but it seems he didn't post specs.

If its getting hot probably the console needs cleaning or there is not enough airflow around the console Or the fan is cloged. The oem thermal pads are suficient. no need to change at all.
