Hi all. Realize I'm getting old when the stuff I like and played are on a console 2+ generations behind. Just someone into IT and able to follow instructions (mostly). Did modding of my PS2 back when chips were available. Life and years later - trying to res my PS2 to play stuff on the actual console. Hoping to come in - learn - maybe provide some feedback.

40+ IT guy from the Caribbean. So limited resources and access to stuff. My PS1 and PS2 were built out of dumpsters basically. I've moved primarily to PC gaming, but I'd like to see what can happen with my PS2. Got my hands on a PS3 recently as well, but will need to reflow that in an attempt to get it working and then soft mod - which may hopefully fix any overheating issues.

That's about it. Will be lurking and trying to learn.

Welcome to PSX-Place! Thank you for your introduction, and hope you enjoy your time on the site :) I'm sure everything you would like to learn you can learn here - plenty of knowledgable members around. Hope to see you around soon!

Thanks for the welcome. Love your DP - haven't seen that game in ages though. Most friends play (or played) Soul Calibur these days.

I play Soul Blade almost daily - a quick run or two through Arcade then on to Survival mode. I have been playing some Soul Calibur IV recently as well, which my brother picked up for me quite cheap, and I've been enjoying that despite being bewildered why Darth Vader is in it lol

@Coldheart2236 - wanted to send you a DM but apparently I can't. Let me see if I can post links now.

Just for you to see.

My aim is to (hopefully) migrate my discs to SSD - maybe with exFAT - and enjoy that way. I don't mind being offline, just as long as I can preserve my stuff.

In the other post I have requesting assistance, I got the PS2 stuff to work, but not the PS1. Still doing some looking in my spare time - hopefully get a breakthrough or someone here can assist on that thread.

The games I'd have played daily would be Bloody Roar 2 and Guilty Gear. I was the best in my country at those two in my prime. Then I settled down and got extra rusty. Then all the noobs in my hometown were challenging when I visited. Embarrassing. But - life and adulting. Makes it hard. I may get back into the swing of things if I can get this working. Would be BR3 and maybe GG: Isuka depending.

Played around with SFA3 and DB:GT. Others like Quake were awesome on Dreamcast with Sonic still having some of the best graphics for that type of game to date IMO. Then there's Samurai Showdown on Sega Genesis. *sigh*

Enough nostalgia for now.
