first they gotta figure out the changes in 4.87 to see what the update does, as of right now Sony hasnt even made it public on what the update does. they havent even said a update dropped yet, on there website it still says 4.86

I wanted to see how they fixed their bug which I reported. It's pretty severe kind of bug which is why you got update after 2 days of Sony confirming the bug

My ps3 says it couldn't start the system n keep restarting

How do you get past the error message to let you update your system to the new software so I can sign into psn?

If you are running webMAN MOD, the system update is disabled. Update before enable HEN or download the PUP and install it manually copying the PS3UPDAT.PUP to x:/PS3/UPDATE in a FAT32 pendrive or USB drive.

I was just wondering if the mentioned exploit somehow effected every Playstation systems or the entire PSN as well or it was just an issue related only to PS3. I'm sorry for the dumb question, but I just wanted to be sure since on my PS3 I just run a phony account

this is about 4.87 ps3 fw, nothing to do with your question. If you are troubled about your psn or bank account just check you accounts. Dont hijack this thread please.

i'm already on 4.87.1 HFW from @Joonie with Package Installer and HEN working (but from custom site, not ps3xploit)

Edit: used files from **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) (all i did was change fwVersion = navigator.... to fwVersion = "4.86"; )
Everything works natively, webman, pkgi, etc
Edit2: Ah yeah, and i unpacked the pkg that contained the dev flash files (ps3 hen signed installer) with rudi rastellis pkg tool and just replaced with ftp and dev_blind.

assuming you have installed HFW/CFW before, you need to download HFW 4.87.1 listed here earlier today. install either via the XMB system update via USB or via recovery mode, whichever method works. once it's installed you can access PSN again, note, as far as I know, there isn't an update for HEN to work with the new HFW so you won't be able to install HEN again yet.

Yeah you've obviously missed the DRAMA of the first 2 pages of this post! Habib just sold a bug on hackerone to sony for I think
$5k and he says it may exist in PS5 which means it would more than likely exist in PS4 and apparently its a BIG security issue for psn accounts. So the question he asked is a 100% valid one.

To be honest for that amount yea i see me doing it also but i thought max bounty was 50k

You can't update anything after installing the HFW because it takes away hen you need to enable hen to use your package installer also you need hen to run MMCM to get inside your HD. After i installed the new firmware it took my hen away and when i go to the xploit to re download it it will not let me it gives me an error stating it could not be found from my ps3 browser
