It is always best to WAIT when a new update is released; there is NOTHING to gain in updating straight away before anything is updated and ready for the new firmware version. I'm on 4.86 on CFW and have no intentions of updating any time soon - it is senseless to do so and it happens time and time again every new firmware release. Much better to hold off and see what develops over time, rather than rushing into updates right away.

Right now multiplayer games some of them been shut down for example motorstorm apocalypse that game need an online connection too open all cars and characters.

i never thought psn was offline only......
yes you will get account locks and potential bans on consoles and accounts now

take a moment and read changelog. its a bit different this time. kernel compile time!=pup compile time or sprx. easy check ps3patch pup
 
Does anybody know how to get hen enabler working after the install on 4.87? I'm being forced to activate the exploit from my laptop using mini webserver to host hen installer as an enabler. Thanks

Ok, so the pup compiled time was wrong/fake/.

and they have now patched a 10 year old spoofing method. Fair enough. It seemed unlikely but I will trust your judgement.
 
one noob question the people who have installed 4.87.1 hfw and don't play online and only sycn the trophies without hen enable will get ban ?

never said kernel compile time was wrong. im sorry im bound by sonys disclosure policy. but if you dont believe me, believe the sonys changelog. and heres an fyi, you guys dont even know how to spoof properly. sony will find you in 1 min even on cfw

No, HFW is basically the same as OFW but with slight differences which make it exploitable. You can safely sign in to PSN on HFW and sync Trophies, but if you'd feel better you could first install 4.87 OFW to do it and then reinstall HFW from Recovery Menu (if necessary).

You're saying to believe Sony's changelog but the only changelog I can find mentions a "Minor security fix" which seems to contradict what you're posting here. Besides that, why are you even dropping hints about what was patched when you're bound by their NDA?

think in marketing perspective. what will happen when sony loses ps5 sales. wont be fun for them.

If that's the case why would they mention a security fix at all? It'd make more sense if they labelled it as a generic "performance update".

If what you're suggesting is actually true, that this is some kind of exploit that allows hackers to steal PSN accounts, then it seems more likely that'd be a server side issue.

If you only just disclosed the exploit, it seems unlikely they would be able to figure it out and create a patch and test it properly so quickly.

Is it not possible that this is a planned update that has nothing to do with you?
 
This is a planned update. When they found exploit or stuff they would push. If you check all the ps3patch pup modules why are they all psn related?

here's an easy way.

they can't check supposedly 4.86, change the number to 4.87. That when it gets to server will get treated differently
