PS3 NEW XMB MOD FOR PS3

Forum Noob
I've been playing with the RCO files of my console for a while now and I've made some aesthetic changes. I learned how they worked and I made a mod that makes your console have a nicer style, this mod just has its first version and if you want to try it here you have my website where you can get it.

My site in my yt channel.

I have also created an uninstaller that leaves your console with the original files, in case you ever want to delete it.
I will keep updating the mod and will keep posting or uploading videos to my youtube channel when a new mod update comes out.

My Youtube Channel: @Frntts :congratulatory:

IMPORTANT: The mod is only made for hen, because I don't have a console with CFW and I can't export it for that system, if someone wants to help you can write me and we will gladly make a CFW version.

Nice to see new XMB modders, but what did you do?
I mean, i saw your video and the only different thing i noticed is the HEN logo and the category user renamed?

The other things are, the eletric purple wave, my sysconf and xmb_plugin.rco and a PS4 coldboot by @DeViL303 i guess

Edit:
Ah ok you colored the clock bar too

Btw, I really liked the renamed login user category. I think I'll get some inspiration from it for my mods XD."

Yes, it looks like there are not many changes, but I have not shown everything in the video, it's just the installation, but I can confirm that yes, I have taken inspiration from some modders for my own mod, but all the files are edited by me and I want to keep doing it!
It's the first version and I'm working to add a new animated coldboot, as a better gameboot (yes, the mod has a gameboot). In a next post I promise to mention the changes that the next version will bring. Greetings!

I can't place images in this post, but in a future post I promise to add images!
Probably need a minimum number of posts. It's nice to see more xmb modders though. It would be interesting to see more mods of the icontex.qrc. it's the default theme icons file. I only know of demonhades cfw with it modified. Iirc, it's a very tedious file to mod though, so that's probably why. I think it uses the Nvidia 3d plugin for Photoshop, but it's been years since I read up on it.

I have read about it and I like the idea of changing the icons. I will do my best to have a next version with these changes.

I took your idea and tried to make it ps4/ps5-ish

Hmmm, since the screen doesn't change whether a controller is connected or not, like on the PS4/5, it doesn't make sense to have "Who's using this controller?"

I think I should add the text when switching users, similar to the PS4.

Which version is better?

---------------

Ignore the red arrow, it's a google image, focus on the text "Who will use the PS4"

personally, I think the second one looks better. the different font looks odd imo.

It looks nice and clean, and you're right, there's not a lot of logic in "who uses this controller". I'll take your idea and change the text to a shorter one, because the one I thought is a bit long.

this is how it looks in the first version

I was thinking about that vertical wave. how do you make the wave vertical instead of horizontal? I was thinking of making a rainbow-colored, vertical wave. I'd change the backgrounds to a gradient of red, yellow, and blue (the primary colors), then make the wave white, I guess. I think it would look like a rainbow then.

I really don't know, I have never modified a lines.qrc, but I suppose that by checking some qrc with the waves in vertical and comparing the modified values with the original ones, you can find a way to see how it works.

What about that purple wave of yours? I think the x value is 0. That's my thinking. Could you upload just the lines.qrc?

well, I tried my hand at a wave, and I'm not sure if it was the coloring or changing x float to 0, but the wave disappeared. I used a gradient for the background, trying to make it rainbow-colored, but it looks bad:

I did a little better this time, but x float doesn't seem to have anything to do with changing it to vertical. I changed all the backgrounds to black, made the left side green/right side blue, increased brightness, and increased the wave's speed. it's much easier I'd imagine checking the results in rpcs3 instead of on a console or rather faster without much risk in case you make a mistake.
