(I posted this on reddit and it got nowhere, so I'll try my luck in here)
Ages ago, a friend set up Free McBoot for me and among the apps there's a very old version of OPL, version 0.8 VMC.
Thing is, that version reads my HDD games fine but it's super outdated so I wanted to try the newest version (OPL 1.2.0 beta)... and it doesn't see any games.
Someone on the reddit comments suggested me to delete the "OPL" folder from my memory card.
Tried "deleting" the folder (renamed it to "hahaOPL" for backup purposes) and then:
- ran 1.2.0. and set HDD Start Mode to Auto
- saved the config to mc0
- restarted the PS2 and ran uLE to check, and indeed a new OPL folder was created
- ran 1.2.0 again, saw the spinning icon for a while... and nothing.
Then, that user asked me to check "BDM Start Mode"... and in version 0.8 that wasn't even a thing.
I read that BDM devices are those not in PS2 format (USB drives and such)
I had installed my games originally with WinHIIP (so it IS in PS2 format) and just to make sure I used a separate drive and installed some games with hdl-dumb instead, with the same result: version 0.8 sees the games, version 1.2 0 beta doesn't.
Photos because why not:
Version 0.8 VMC showing the games:
Version 1.2.0 NOT showing them:
Am I missing something?
