thanks. I managed to get all four amiibos from amazon. I read that bowser jr. is exclusive to toys 'r' us stories only. I actually did see a line outside of one of their stores early this morning. also, apparently, the modern mario amiibo is exclusive to walmart, but it comes bundled with the wii-u system. wtf was Nintendo thinking with that one!? it's bad enough that several amiibos r store exclusive, but to make one of 'em bundled with a system!?

I was wondering about that Modern Mario one... I couldn't find it anywhere when I was looking online. I figured it was just not available in the US.

Nintendo has been going down a dark path recently. I have lost love for them this year, and so have many others... and if they keep up their current ways... more people will be falling out of love with them.

Nintendo's biggest failing is that they waste their potential with almost everything they do. they have been (and still r for the most part) one of the most innovative/creative gaming companies. they could do so much more if they weren't so restrictive. someone once said that Nintendo always seems to be surprised by their own success.
 
[MENTION=9]tthousand[/MENTION], I now have all wave 6 amiibos. the ganondorf I received from amazon had a creased box, so I sent the item back and bought a replacement off of ebay for about $5 more. I also managed to get the modern color Mario amiibo for around $40. I did see the display at walmart last weekend. I think it was a Mario Maker bundle. there was a cutout with the amiibo visible. damn Nintendo. ;)

[MENTION=3657]pinky[/MENTION] That is not a bad idea for Nintendo to make skylander/amiibo toys... Pretty ingenious too, just a twist of the base to switch between skylander and amibo functions. Two toys for the price of one!

As for those classic mario amiibos... I'm not too impressed with the original color one. I thought it was going to look better. I mean, it looks okay... but personally I think it looks better in pictures than it does in hand.

Also, I ordered the retro amiibo pack from gamestop awhile back. I am surprised they still have some left in stock. I figured they would have sold out of that quick. I am hoping I can sell that retro pack and the two Dr Marios I have... and use the money I get to buy a Lucina.

BTW, I believe you said you had some Yarn Yoshis... what do you think of the quality?
 
I don't own any yarn yoshis. they're not out yet. I now own every amiibo though. I got the retro 3-pack yesterday. I thought the release date was the 27th, but it was the 25th, so I almost missed going to the store. ur still collecting all the female characters? my bff is doing the same.

Yeah, I'm still going after the girls... at least in the SSB releases. Not really sure if I am going to pick up the Mii Gunner though. Looks like it is only available in the 3 set though. Although... it could be neat to have some Mii amiibos.

nah, I only have the American versions of every amiibo. I'll pick up those mii amiibos. something interesting I heard was that Miyamoto actually has an amiibo of his own mii. that'd be pretty awesome.

No I don't know for sure, but I think it's safe to assume it's the smaller one. I mean, an Amiibo box is roughly the same height and width as a video game case, so it makes sense that would be the one packaged with the game. Besides, they wanted to charge $40 for the big one, I'm sure they are NOT going to be giving it away with a $60 game.

BTW, there are still Blue and Pink available from GameStop.

thanks. wii-u hack - 5.2.0 firmware. stay tuned on that one. don't update if ur on or below that firmware. I'm above it personally, but I had no intention of hacking the wii-u side of the wii-u. that's y I went all digital. that's not the case with the ps4 though. ;)

I have not intentions of hacking the Wii U, but sometimes I think it would be nice to pick a second console specifically for hacking. Probably not a bad idea to pick one up soon if I am going to do that. I wonder what FW the refurbished ones from the Nintendo Store come with.

not sure, but Nintendo will probably update them, 'cause the hack is an ios hack similar to the wii's.
 
alright, I've got the pink, yarn yoshi amiibo coming by way of amazon. the only thing I don't like about gamestop is that u have to pay shipping. I'm trying to avoid that if possible. I'll have to come up with something when it comes to the green, yarn yoshi amiibo as well. I bought the game digitally, so I didn't get the amiibo with the game. ...amazing game btw! I don't play games that much anymore, but I've made it all the way to world 6 over last weekend. ;)

Really? It did not score great on the mainstream reviews, but I remember having a lot of fun on the older Yoshi titles. This one really looks amazing BTW. Perhaps I will check it out.

Yeah, gamestop is bad for not including free shipping once you pass a certain amount. But when has gamestop really ever been good for anything? I remember EB games got me my Nintendo 64 like 3 days before all the other store... so that was bad ass... but since then

the game is different from other yoshi games in a few ways. first, there's no baby Mario. second, u have infinite lives. the game isn't very hard either. I think the game is more about collecting/exploration. I've tried to be thorough in most stages (only gone through each up to where I'm at once), but I've missed a lot. u collect 20 stamps, 5 spools of yarn, 5 flowers, and u need 20 stars to complete a level 100%. I'm not sure if u have to get all of that in one go as ur collection appears on the save screen as if u don't need to. the boss battles r pretty enjoyable as well.

yeah, gamestop has some problems. apparently, amiibos r becoming more readily available from what I've heard, so ridiculous prices from scalpers may be a thing of the past.
 
[MENTION=9]tthousand[/MENTION] , I got the animal crossing amiibo cards binder. the person I bought it from said he got it at a Nintendo event, so I'm not sure if it's even sold in stores. it's also still sealed. I'm not sure if I"m going to open it or not. I was thinking about collecting the amiibo cards though. I think there r like 6 cards per pack. and, there r 100 cards in series 1. apparently, Nintendo has four series in mind totaling 400 amiibo cards. my god!
