PS3 No power with Blueray Drive connected

I recently changed the thermal paste and somehow messed up the ribbon cable for the Blue ray drive.
I ordered a new one and tried it out, however the PS3 will not power on (no red light) when the blue ray drive is connected. When I remove the ribbon connecting to the Blueray drive it powers on fine.

Any suggestions?

I have a PHAT CECHL model.

Inatall a nonBD CFW on your system, and then try connecting the bd drive back it will work.
