I have a phat ps3 and it was frankensteined so gpu should be fine, but some times after a few min/hrs, my video will artifact and freeze while sound and game/xmb still runs fine. Any idea why this maybe? Usually a reboot fixes. Sometimes a few needed. Also tried file check and new hdd, not ssd and still same issue happens occasionally. Also fresh cfw install. Before frankenstein the whole console would lock. Not it half locks. Video freezes, but with sound and play still (current, not before gpu swap).
Edit: so I may have found out why issue. These are what I did also next, I reupdated xia plugin, and modules fixes. Then I also deleted some themes. I think some theme installs caused issues. Maybe there were too many/ some with errors/duplicates. All seems fine so far. I'll update again if any further issues. Also I gave the PS3 its own power outlet as well as this could also be a reason. Don't hurt regardless.
