Some pretty nice eye candy and a couple of clever features.
The "Activities" feature is something I really like. There have been countless times in games where I forget where I am, forgot what I was supposed to be doing, got swayed on some side mission etc etc. Various games in the past have had something like this where you can track progress, but having it baked into the system software is a real nice touch.
I don't like the "Official Game Help" part of it though... For PS+ members only...

I feel another "Corporate Money Grubber" rant coming on.....
But I digress,
PIP (Picture In Picture) mode looks very much like a natural progression as we have so many live streaming platforms now. I could see some interesting scenarios where someone could host a Lets Play Party, where you can watch and play along at the same time, on the same screen, same game... Even just having it their to see your friend progress while you can carry on playing your own game is a very social thing to do. I like it. Especially if you've got headsets on and chatting too.
Jumping straight into multiplayer games your friends are playing is nice. I haven't played a huge amount of online games... But hasn't this done before? Or am I thinking of something that's been on PC?
The various media sharing features for screen records and screen caps isn't anything new. Although it's mentioned that the Ps5 is always recording the latest gameplay which is something I'm not sure I've heard of before...
The overall home screen layout, look and feel is nicely polished. Nothing ground-breaking in the GUI department, but still nice and clean.
With my fashionably late approach to console purchases, I look forward to getting one in about... 5.... 6.. maybe 7 years
