PS3 OFFICIAL bguerville's PS3 Toolset v1.2.004 Update Now Live - Supporting 4.89 + NEW Features

Notice OFFICIAL PS3 Toolset is not currently online, will be back soon.
See Link for more info: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/4...irmware-capable-models-status-warnings.38553/

Beware there are some unofficial versions out there in the wild, They are incomplete and have a high brick risk they should not be consider mirror. When official PS3 Toolset is back online we will update you here, .
d Following the firmware update of 4.89 the scene was awaiting an update to bguerville's PS3 Toolset so that CFW capable console who may of updated to 4.89 (or jailbreaking for the first time) can run the exploit and once again and be able to install CFW from 4.89. Now for those experienced CFW user's they knew they should wait and NOT UPDATE when a new firmware update goes live as those user's simply just waited for Evilnat's 4.89 Cobra CFW to be released. .

Now back to the official toolset update, behind the scene's prior to the 4.89 update the v1.2 update was near deployment. So instead of making various updates, one to support 4.89 and one for v1.2 new feature's it made sense for the project to have one testing session and release in a single update for 4.89 but that meant it a bit of delay for the deployment since proper testing needed to be conducted with v1.2 features. However in that time period a Russian Scene site had found someone else's re-implementation (they forget to mention that) and patched worked together a toolset that looked like the real thing but it was hardly bguerville's original toolset nor did it offered the safety/quality or feature set of the real release.

There have been various changes in v1.2004 but the much anticipated File Manager & xRegistry Editor will still be rolled out in a future update that will arrive soon after some theming issue's are sorted. To quote developer @bguerville about the new features in this update the developer states "there is a few new features to play with other than 4.89 support, like some memory patching options including HAN, memory dumping, extended system information details and syscon error logs. Afaik the issue that led to crashes on page load on certain setups should be fixed" Additional details can be seen in the tabs below .

The Toolset 1.2 roll out is completed, you can check it out at the usual ** www.** ** www.ps3xploit.net > D... (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com)/bgtoolset.
Use at your own risk, as always.

Many of the 1.2 changes are behind the scenes however there is a few new features to play with other than 4.89 support, like some memory patching options including HAN, memory dumping, extended system information details and syscon error logs. Afaik the issue that led to crashes on page load on certain setups should be fixed.

The file manager tool remains inaccessible for the time being, so does the xRegistry Editor, sorry about that, I haven't had time to finish all the theming work and didn't want to make users in need of 4.89 jailbreak wait any longer, those features will get enabled in a future roll out, soon.

I wish to extend our collective thanks to all donators, on behalf of the community, the hosting renewal target has been reached and the project public access is set to remain open in October. In coming weeks, esc0 and I will be discussing our options in regard to a hosting merge for the 2 ps3xploit domains.

I sincerely believe that it would be in the community's best interests to setup a community hosting project for the long term, we would actually surrender the collected donations in order to join such a hosting solution if it came to be, you guys all need to give this some serious thought if you want to avoid this last minute scrambling situation to repeat itself over and over with all the online services you are depending on at the risk of losing them altogether.

What we really need at this point, more than anything else, is a couple of trustworthy volunteers ready to take care of a hosting project funded by the community..

Btw notice in the attached ss the difference between boot count and shutdown count, 1600 crashes for 7000 boots. Poor test console, panics a lot.. LOL

With my usual thanks to @esc0rtd3w for his dedication and patience testing my work.

    Info Update
    I forgot to mention.

Here's the memory patch file JSON syntax:

    {"0":{"offset":0x88888888,"pvalue":1,"ovalue":0}, "1":{"offset":0x77777777,"pvalue":1,"ovalue":0}, etc....}

You should number each patch from 0, offset is self explanatory, it's the 32bit memory offset where you want to apply a patch, pvalue is the 32 bit value you wish to write to the offset, ovalue is the 32bit value you wish to restore when removing the patch.
That system implies that the original value is fixed and you can predict it, restoring values that change all the time is not currently possible...

I use the first 4 chars of the file as magic I could not be bothered writing an algo to scrub the white spaces & deal with single quotes at the time, I will do it at some point but for now, you must not use spaces in the first 4 characters AND you must use double quotes, no single quotes...

  • 1.2.004 changes log:

    Userland Memory Manager v1.2
    * added memory patching preset options for HAN & Debug pkg
    * added memory patching through prepared files (using JSON syntax)
    * added memory dumping options per executable file segments or through ranges
    * added testing for unallocated memory before reading any offset to avoid potential crashes, in a next update UME Strict mode will be removed entirely

    System Manager Manager v1.3.1
    * added System Information details and options to save that data to file
    * added syscon error logs
    * added a new patch file download feature to avoid using the limited browser file download feature.
    * added 4.89 patching support

    JS Xploit Framework update v4.2
    * hooked all existing VSH exports available, the entire range of them is available from js without needing to use offsets
    * fixed the crashes on page load with certain setups (Thanks to @No0bZiLLa for volunteering to help debug an issue that esc0 and I could never reproduce or investigate)
    * many other changes & improvements, the list is too long to enumerate

Hi everyone,

I know the xploit site is down and on the alt site, bgtoolset is not currently working.

however, I was wondering if there was a work around for my fat playstation that is currently on version 4.41 ?

any help is appreciated :)

The ** ** www.ps3xploit.net > Domain no Longer owned by team** (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com) > Domain no Longer owned by team** (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com domain (along with all the other domains esc0 registered) is gone, it was arbitrarily suspended without any explanation or chance of appeal (other than going to court), there's nothing we can do about it, don't blame us for the interruption of service, if you really must blame someone, blame GoDaddy.

Without a working domain, a SSL certificate cannot be renewed and as the currently used certificate must have expired last week, in theory the PS3 Toolset should no longer be accessible, even using the DNS trick.

There is no plan to release an offline version of the PS3 Toolset for the time being, there's no point asking, the PS3 Toolset will come back online under a new domain name, the URL to access it will be posted in this forum when the new setup is ready. And because that new setup will also aim at providing console development related hosting to the community, not just host the 2 ps3xploit sites and the no-psn site, we won't rush this new redeployment, it may take another week or 2 to sort out all the details, but even then that's really nothing in the great scheme of things.
An announcement about all this will be made some time this month, in the meantime you all need to give us the space and time necessary for a proper redeployment, be patient.

Hi bg, first off love the work you've done with the bgtoolset but was wondering if you could explain how the toolset worked mainly for installing a custom firmware. Or atleast the source code (if it's open-source that is) I would like to try and compile something that I could use to rejailbreak my PS3 as I was stupid and allowed the official update remove the jailbreak on my system.

If you don't feel like sharing how it's done no issues I was just somewhat curious. Hope to see the bgtoolset back online in the near future though.

there is no official source code release. the developer has said that the toolset should be available by the end of this weekend. we just have to wait until then. :)

I must have missed that announcement where it will be out soon. I would love to see a usb version of this toolset just incase this issue happens again then I have the tools on hand.

I just install cfw in a ps3 whit no problens, it's just for those who whish a cfw ps3 until bgtools are back. I'm no moder, just a guy who want play in a ps3 cfw.

The tools may work for a few... indeed the code was stolen from the original bgtoolset.

The problem is not that it's fake. The problem is that the tool is INCOMPLETE and the author @bguerville has warned that this unofficial version 1.1.003 has some bugs that he fixed in 1.2.004. Even the README included in the dump (that is not visible for the visitors) says that "it's not a full dump", and that "only focused on happy path". You can read it yourself in the link that I posted from that new site.

If you flashed successfully your console, consider yourself a lucky guy.

It is unfair to promote a tool that looks like the official but that in reality it's putting the console in a risk of brick it without any warning.

Additionally it violates the rule #2 of this forum.
2.) No Posting / Linking of Dangerous &/or Pirated Software.

As dangerous as it seems, I have tried the russian jailbreak on two different consoles (both CECH-2001A) and the jailbreak worked fine. I'm not encouraging anyone to do it but I have heard it working for a lot of people as well. There was one problem, when I tried it on 4.88 it seems to not work, but on 4.89 it's fine.

I'm not encouraging anyone to do it but I have heard it...
so you are not saying "go ahead and do it, everything will be fine"...instead you are just saying "everything will be fine".

so you are not telling anybody to do anything...you're just saying that everything will be fine if they do it. right? totally not encouraging at all.

I was trying to say that for me it worked and it didn't cause any problems but I don't encourage anyone to try it as from another thread someone bricked their system.
