PS2 [Open PS2 Loader] Game Bug Reports

Playing from HDD won't solve those problems. I'm pretty sure those slowdowns are the normal games perfomances. For having another verification, you can try PS2ESDL v.0821 (use this exact version).
Thanks for the tip, I'll try to test with PS2ESDL. The fps drops in certain points are normally present in those games, I could see it by seeing gameplay on youtube with original hardware, even if I'm not sure of the medium used, whether dvd or internal hdd. But they are imperceptible, you have to apply yourself to notice them. While in those same points on OPL based on my tests with usb and smb the framerate drops are more than visible, much more marked. Different speech for Bully and Black Monday, these 2 games from the beginning you will notice that they have something strange with OPL, as if they have lowered the speed of the framerates.

I never played Black monday on OPL. I played Bully once and don't remember slowdowns (but it's been a long time ago, I played just a little). The slowdown you have is a sort of heavy stuttering like on GTA SA? On this game OPL introduces stuttering (it's worse on NTSC versions I think). With OPL 0.9.2 the game was smooth.

Yeah exactly. The same slowdowns as GTA SA, but in the latter they are less frequent in the PAL version at least with the latest beta version, and yes I also noticed that they are more marked in the NTSC version (I also noticed something similar with Def Jam Fight for NY, in the PAL version it is smoother). The same fps drops that are instead constant in Bully and Black Monday. So I assume that with internal hdd won't fix these problems. I will also try OPL version 0.9.2

One thing I would like to mention:
I updated OPL to the newest version and was having issues that some games had a lot of issues to recognize the physical memory card, especially Grandia III. I wasted some time trying to change MC, to connect and disconnect mid game... until I noticed that pademu was enabled on its own. When I disabled it, the memory card was recognized right away. I had it disabled before because when I tried it (just to see how it works), I had some slowdowns and letting pademu enabled was not useful for me, because I still have the original controllers.
I know that original controllers are getting annoying to find and having it pre-enabled is useful to make it work right away, but it kinda upset me to have this option enabled on its own and personally I rather use external converters to avoid performance issues...

@Sonic3320, in rare cases, a config_game.cfg file with PADEMU written in is created on the memory card in the OPL folder. If this file is not deleted, then games that are not compatible with PADEMU will not work. Also here you can download OPNPS2LD-VARIANTS.7z, there is an ELF file with deactivated PADEMU.

For anyone with a white screen or a frozen screen hangup after a few loading screens in DEUS EX, please try the build suggested in the link below (OPNPS2LD-v1.2.0-Beta-2024-db51e73) and PLEASE REPORT BACK to that same thread.

For me it worked and gave no issues of hangs or freezes after multiple loading screens (count at least 28) during an hour and a half of continuous gameplay.

If it works for you please report it back so hopefully this becomes a fix implemented in the newer builds. Also try it with other games like Unreal Tournament and Max Payne, Splinter Cell and any other game that hangs up after a fixed number of continuous loading screens.

For example: What about 'Ace Combat 5 - Unsung War' and starting mission 6? I read it had issues since rev 726! ;)

...or does 'Aliens vs. Predator Extinction' still need Mode 2, to fix the Audio-Stuttering, etc.?

Hi, play this game today. Stuck on mission 6, either it freeze from the cut scene, or black screen after showing the briefing map. Any suggestion so the game could run the mission?

I thought the black screen caused by cheat device, after many times reseting, actived/deactive the cheat, it does not matter the mission still broken.

SCPH 50001

OPL 1682-DB-TA
PS2RD off

Try to using Mode 4/6/7 still not working

Dont know, its the OPL.ELF file that i used, and OPL>About. That is what written there.

https://www.ps2-home.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3&start=170

It was mentioned here, OPL 1682-DB-TA. With 10 aniv OPL logo when booting.

But after posting, i changed the OPL.ELF file to OPL latest version, v1.1.0. Still Ace Combat 5 stuck on mission 6.
OPL DB-TA is not OPL.
Don't mix these too.
OPL DB-TA is a bad fork with a lot of issues.

Usage of that OPL "fork" is very frowned upon here, for reasons.

I see its a fork, i dont know, newbie here. My bad. I just use it because that the file the service repair gave to me. Some ppl use that fork in here. And i just dont realize because they rename the file with "OPL".

So i thought it was the same with other.
