PS3 Operation not permitted error when attempting to run a game from PS3netsrv

Hello, I just got my PS3 out of storage cuz i felt like playing it again. It has been a few years since i messed with it. I have a slim with PS3Hen 4.87.

I recently set up PS3netsrv on a raspberry pi, opened the port in the firewall, and added this pi as my net_host on Multiman. I moved my backup of Oblivion (.iso) into a folder on the my external usb hard drive at /mnt/fdrive/Gaming/PS3/GAMES (i went with GAMES instead of PS3ISO because this is where my isos are on dev_hdd0). I also made sure that the user i'm running ps3netsrv as (pi) has owership and read permission of /mnt/fdrive/Gaming/PS3.

I can see Oblivion appear in list of mountable games with the little internet icon near it. But when I click it i get an error on the ps3 that says Operation not permitted. and something along the lines of

Operation not permitted
I: [BLU#####] /path/to/the/game
O: [BLU####] /path/to/the/game
ERROR (FFFFFFF)

Not the exact error but just what i remember, i can get a screen grab when i get home tonight of the exact error.
I know external hard drives for ps3 need NTFS/exFAT but this hard drive is btrfs but i figured since it was just transferring the game data to the console that this wouldn't matter.

Anyone seen this before or know how it could be troubleshot (is that a word? lol). The PS3netsrv program has no error in its output, just connection from 192.168.0.10 messages and messages showing the console requested the game.
 
Try moving the ISO to the proper folder PS3ISO or try mounting the game with webMAN MOD.

The folders GAMES or GAMEZ are intended for games in JB folder format (extracted files).

Ok, i will try moving the games to PS3ISO this weekend and see if that works. If not i will try out webman. But GAMES is used for isos on the console's hdd right?

Ok, i remembered wrong and thought folder games were PKGs and ISOs were all games that needed to be launched via multiman. It appears this is a folder game (when opened it has this structure: PS3_GAME, PS3_UPDATE, PS3_DISC.SFB). It only shows up in multiman when it is in the GAMES folder.

Update: I'm now experiencing freezes when attempting to enable hen or open multiman. I read that it could be related to setting dynamic fan speed. I set it to manual 35. When it freezes i have to unplug the device to get it to go off and it has to rebuild the restore the file system each time.

When using webman's ftp server it kept disconnecting while multiman has never had this issue hence me trying to open multiman. I disabled ftp in webman and am attempting to turn on ftp in multiman
