Hi all. I have encountered an issue running games with OPL via SMB on PS2 mode of my PS3 CECH-Axx. Few minutes after launching the game would result in infinite loading or just very slow. I know it's very slow because the in-game music would continue playing for few seconds then it's frozen again. After a minute, the music would play again for few seconds then stop. Every minute the same cycle. But the game's "Loading" prompt never went away. I got this because I reached the part where the game would start to read the data again. Like you're playing the game on very scratched disc.
I have tried UDPBD. Never got games listed at all in the BDM section but the PC did receive CMD INFO from 192.168.1.10 which is the console itself every time it boots UDPBD OPL. I have connected the console and the PC directly via wired connection so there's no router involved. PC IP already set 192.168.1.20, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway and DNS 192.168.1.1.
I have a slim 9000x PS2 just to test whether the PC could be the main issue and UDPBD just works like intended. SMB works great as well but I can't say for sure if the infinite loading didn't occur because I only test the games for 30 minutes approx.
I can store locally the PS2 games on the internal 80GB HDD (taken from spare CECH-Lxx console) but it's PITA for switching games where when you exit to XMB, the controller disconnects. Then you have to reconnect the controller to navigate to WebMAN PS2 folder then the controller disconnects again after the PS3 jumps into PS2 mode and you have to reconnect it again. Nevertheless, I can only store few games on the 80GB HDD
The OPL USB games are just as slow especially on FMVs as if you're playing on real PS2 despite the ports are USB 2.0 spec on the PS3.
Hopefully someone here can give me clarification or solution for it. Thanks in advance.
